Wait, you can raise mountain ranges? I thought you could only raise hills at best.

They auto-convert? I wish I knew that. Everytime I get a shard of the opposite color, I just immediately raze it to make sure it doesn't fall into the hands of my enemies.

I know you say the AI is bad at the late game, but I think you're over-estimating how good the AI's early game is. From my experience, AIs in 4X games are good at one thing and one thing only: fast expansion. Fast expansion gives them an immediate advantage right out of the starting gate, as having more cities and more territory usually means better economy and better research. But for some reason, the AI is never able to take advantage of that. What invariably happens (assuming you&#

So I just loaded a game, and suddenly there are spiders swarming over everything. And they're far more aggressive than all the other monsters. And these spiders definitely weren't there when I saved last night. So what the hell? Is there also a bug that when you load a save, a crapton of highly aggressive monsters spawn out of nowhere? Anyone seen anything like it before?

Once, while I was invading, the enemy had two cities separated by a mountain range on one side and a river on the other. I had tons of mana, so I flattened the mountain and charged through.

Actually, (almost) everything is explained in this game. You just have to click through the menus and look at the tooltips.
- how to get more grain .. you mean food for population .. i don't know, I want my cities to level up. -- he didn't get the difference between grain and food in the first place, then he ddin't know about buildings that give more food, not to mention things like upgradable tiles on strategic map that give food
<

The game says when you complete Dance with Dragons, you can build a Monument to recruit 3 Ashwake Dragons. However, I don't see the option anywhere. My monuments on Prestigious Locations don't give me dragons either, nor do the basic Monuments for increasing Zone of Control. Is there any way to make this work? Or do those Monuments not actually exist in the game? Also, I got a Dragon Lair and got my Stormwake Dragon. It says limit 1 dragon reached. Is that 1 dragon total? Or c

To be fair, this is my first game (second if you count the aborted first attempt), and I'm playing on Easy/Easy, but the Alliance victory was way too easy. I'm nowhere near Spell of Winning the Game, I can't find the Master Quest, and I haven't even fought in any wars, but as soon as I unlocked Alliance, I went to the Foreign Relations screen, and all the other players actually *paid me* to Ally with them and win the game. Is this normal? Or did I just get lucky and ge

You're not supposed to take down Strong armies with just 3 heroes. You'll definitely need some supporting generics, preferably archers. What difficulty are you playing on? Can you give us the turn by turn description of what you're doing? My gut feeling is that you're leaving your sov just sit there at your capital waiting for things to happen (which means you aren't earning experience, loot, or gold), or you're not rushing out your production (

I'd also like the option to remove items from the trade window. For example, sometimes I'll want 30 Magic Tech from the opponent. So I'll start putting various things, like gold or resources or other tech. And then I'll realize that I can't afford/am not willing to trade at the rates the opp is asking for. But maybe I'll settle for 15 Magic Tech. Except right now, I don't have the option to remove the 30 Magic Tech and replace it with 15 Magic Tech. So I have to le

Welp, I capture the Great Wolf, and then found another studded collar. Intentional? Or just damn good luck? I also found an Umberdroth Lair, too.

Huh, never realized I could do that. Thanks for the help guys! Lucky me, I just found a Great Wolf den. Here's hoping to capture it!

Yes, it says beasts, but how do I know what is and isn't a beast? The Hiergamenon doesn't tell me.

21 Replies 95,857 Views

I got a Studded Collar, which said it allowed me to take control of beasts. And I also found an Ashwake Dragon on the map. So I thought it would be a good idea to try to capture the Ashwake Dragon. Except the game told me the Ashwake Dragon isn't a valid target for the collar. So there goes that idea. But my question is, is there any way to check what is and isn't a valid target for the collar? Because if it's just trial and error, that's kinda lame.

I clicked on an enemy's city, and the Rename button was there. So I clicked rename, and it allowed me to rename the city. Is that a bug? Is that intentional? Now I know FE is all about customization, but it seems really weird that I could just go and rename all of my enemy's cities.

Are you sure it wasn't because the unit's initiative was so low that he literally doesn't get another turn in the game? From my understanding, initiative isn't an order. If there's a unit with 20 initiative and a unit with 15 initiative, the 20 init unit will get 4 turns to the 15's 3 turns.
