Thanks, that clarifies it immensley, and makes alot of sense.

Perfect. Thank you for the info. Out of curiosity, why isn't theme manager supported for windows 10? Or is it something that is forthcoming?
Pardon my lack of knowledge but I'm not a programmer by any stretch, I'm just an old guy trying to customize my PC for the first time. I bought Object Desktop because it has a whole bunch of interesting apps. I can see that "some" of them have categories here but not all. So my question is where can I find info on some of the apps that are included. One example would be "Theme Manager" I really like the theme options in Windows 10, but I would like to create a th
Do we know how long the sale for Ashampoo Winoptimizer is going to last? I would like to get to software but do not have the funds to make it available until this Friday.
Do you mean Object Desktop when you say Object 10?
Yes Object Desktop is what I was talking about. I followed your link to the upgrade page and entered the info but it is telling me I'm not eligible for the upgrade. I bought Fences and Start 10 more than a year ago, and I got Multiplicity in Dec. 2017. All of them were purchased thru Steam, so how am I not eligible?
I already own the following: Start 10 Multiplicity Fences Do I get any kind of Discount on Object 10 because I already spent the $ on these other apps? Not that it matters but I also own a significant # of Stardock games from Political Machines 2004 to 20016, Gal Civ II and III, Sins of a Solar Empire, Offworld Trading. I realize those don't really help in the cost of Object 10 but it's mostly to just show that I have been spending $ on your produ
Sweet. I will check out that thread. I have always enjoyed grabbing a new Civ game or Gal and running into the campaign kind of blind and trying to figure it out on the fly so I will try that. Just wanted to kind of double check and make sure I shouldn't be running around sandboxing it and saving the campaigns for later. I appreciate the link. I do like surfing the boards and getting a general idea of what is going on.
Big Gal Civ II Fan. Today is my B-day and somebody got me GalCiv III and some crazy amount (11 total I think) of DLC. I'm an old guy so I don't know that much about DLC stuff other than it looks cool. My question is what do I start with? Is there a thread somewhere that can guide me on this? When I open the game it's showing Ver. 1.85 and the mercenaries update. I'm also an old school Civ player, I really enjoy Campaign type games, should
A great thanks to both of you. I have been making a good little chunk of money selling off stuff to the minors, and I have limited what I've swapped with the major's outside of the couple that seem to be friendly at this point. I figured giving them anything to do militarily wasn't a good manuever, but I had thought about the boost of getting them some Econ stuff. LTJim, I remember, from that other post, what you said, in this particular game it's to late for
Total newbie here so please indulge my newness. If at anytime there is someplace else I need to find info please let me know and I willl make sure to hunt there also. I have found the On-line Wiki to be a great resource so far, along with a couple of the guides I have found here. That said, my main question is about Tech and trading. First of all I have noticed that some of the other Civ's have a tech with a * in front of it. I'm assuming this is a tech
LTJim; Wow, thanks man, that is some incredibly useful info. I think I will start a whole new game and incorporate your strat's too see how it goes. I got a couple questions about Tech Trading, but I think I will start a new thread on that instead of running this Necro. Very much appreciate all the input though. Thanks
Thanks Echelion that helps a good deal. I haven't had time to go forum searching yet so these two ? May already be out there if so, and you have it available, anybody with links to discussions on these topics would be great. #1. I have a freighter I got from The Korx in a trade, any idea on what colony it will establish the trade route, or do I need to send it to one of my worlds first? #2 How do I set up an "escort" for my Trade ships? i have designed a
Thank for the answers, that helps clarify things a great deal. i will be back with more I'm sure
that helps a great deal Highwater, thanks. Of my 5 colonies its only my homeworld that has a lackluster approval (70%) and thatmostly due to population I believe. One other ? If I can impose. I have 2 morale resource starbases I picked up early on, but they are out on the borders well away from any of my colonies. I read here that it was a good idea to grab as many galactic resources as possible. With these being so far away am I getting any benefit from them,
My question is along these lines so thought I would post here instead of a whole new thread. I read in the manual that being in "debt" is a drag on approval. need to clarify debt. i have a good pile of money, about 7k from selling off techs to friends, but my weekly costs are now in the negative, about -24 per week. Am I in "debt" due to the negative cash flow, even though I have a surplus?
I went into the options settings for the game and set it to window mode. It took longer but still happened. Do you have to switch to "window" mode every time you play the game, or does it take care of it after the one time? Is there something in my Windows XP settings I need to change? I'm now having this same problem with Political Machine 2012. It is only happening with Stardock titles, no other game does this? Anybody have an idea, c
Just got this thru Steam and I'm having an issue. A little background first. I ordered another Stardock product, Gal Civ II through Game Stop about 2 weeks ago. I started having this issue where the game would just all of a sudden crash my entire machine. Not just to desktop, but my ENTIRE PC would just power off. After going through trying to figure it out and posting my debug file on the GalCiv forum, it looked like it was something to do with playing
Just bought GalCivII Ultimate off GameStop about two weeks ago. Been enjoying poking around and all of a sudden I'm getting the weirdest bug/glitch I've ever seen in a game. I'm playing into the end of the first year, and all of a sudden the entire Machine just turns off! I scanned it to make sure nothing was amiss, and found nothing. It is only this game that is causing this issue though. I can do anything else, surf the web, play Civ IV, or Railroad
This sounds like what I have read on this forum related to the "Jagged Knife" event that can happen. It's a mega event of some kind. Like you, I haven't been playing long enough to really know. I will tell you though that there is a Thread on here related to it, and if you search on the Wiki site you can find alot of information on it there.
Quick question. I see in many posts here a reference to early, mid, or late game. I've also seen people talking about the 0 year win thing. I'm sure not looking for a 0 year win, but am trying to wrap my mind around what the other "times" are equal too? Does the average win take 2 or 3 years? More, Less? Help me understand what mid and late game is. I'm currently playing a sandbox game as the terrans, just trying to sort out the mechan
Thanks for the info, that explains how they got it so fast. I was looking at my tech tree and going "Wohaaa, how did they get that deep so fast!" but it makes sense now. I guess I can just tech rush to that set of techs, i.e. barren, aquatic, and heavy, in order to pick up some of those planets, but is it likely that they will colonize them first? There are a few that are barren and a couple with heavy grav, just wondering if it makes sense to beeline those techs to grab u
playing TA from the Ultimate Pkg just bought, two questions. #1 should be playing something besides the TA expansion as -'m learning to play the game? #2 - have met the Yor and the only Tech they have is "barren world colony" which could really use, it's very early game, April 2227, so -i'm wondering how they got it since it's preTty deep in the tech tree? any suggestions? i have one spy ready to go out, can - steal it? they
Thanks dnzrx1, that helps alot. As to their tech lead, I figured it was prob a built in edge for the AI to help them stay in the hunt but wasn't sure. I'm trying to figure out how to balance the income/output slider's and manage that with the tech tree stuff. I'm an old school TBS guy having run anything based around the Civ and Tycoon franchises, this game was recommended to me recently and it looks really cool, I've just gotta figure out how to balanc
Playing my first sandbox game as the Terran Alliance. TA version 2.04 I believe. I have a tile on the Earth planet that is showing the remains of a precursor library, and it says that I will get a bonus if I build a "research district" there. My problem is I can't find anything in game, or in the Galactopedia (awesome tool BtW) that tells me what a research district is? Do I start with a standard lab and then upgrade it as the techs advance? At what point doe
Hello everyone. Just found this game and bought it, have heard great things, so hopefully I won't be to bothersome in trying to sort out how to play. My primary question in this post has to do with the different options to run the game under. I see a Campaign with three different options and it looks like this is a scenario type situation where you move through a storyline and pursue the objectives, is that right? After that am I to assume that most people just
