It's the 1.3 beta, and I play on challenging.

I really, really want to like this game. Heck, I want to love it! The ideas behind it are so good, and the framework is there, but the game is only fun when dealing with monsters. As soon as the Sovereigns become the focus, the game just nosedives, as the enemy throws individual heroes at you on suicide missions. I was five hours into a game when I declared war on a Sovereign. He was at half the power that I was, so the obvious move would be to turtle up in
I have the same problem with cursors. It is possible to look over the champion's traits when you have the sword icon, but it's not easy, and takes a lot of trial and error.
Never mind... it showed up today. GPU 1 at 100%, GPU 2 at 25%.
I have Crossfire enabled in Catalyst Control Center, and both cards show up in MSI Afterburner, so it's working. However, after playing for three hours, MSI shows 99% maximum usage on GPU 1, and 0% usage on GPU 2, which makes it look like the engine isn't using Crossfire. Is there no Crossfire support in this game?
I'm just starting to play this game, and so far I've been playing Resoln. Being a magical race, it still seems like you need to do nothing but Civilization tech for the opening game... unless I have crystal nearby, I have no use for magical items, and I don't have enough mana yet to use a lot of spells. Am I missing something, or does this seem to be the way this plays out for others?
Thanks for the detailed answer!
My monitor supports 120Hz, but the FPS on this game maxes out at 60. I've tried various combinations of VSync through the ATI Catalyst Control Center with no luck... is there a Legendary Heroes file I need to modify to allow the FPS to go above 60?
Totally agree about movement... you should have to click twice, and there should be numbers showing the time necessary to make the move. This is the ONLY turn-based strategy game I've played (and I've played a lot) where this isn't available. It's Interface 101. I also agree about being able to switch cities within the build interface by using keyboard shortcuts... this is a fairly standard option for most games made in the last ten years.</
Alright, I'm probably being an idiot, but since I'm using Steam, should I simply unzip into My Documents\My Games\Fallen Enchantress? Is that all? It doesn't seem to be replacing an existing .exe. Thanks
No, that's just going to be your save game folder. Unzip it into Steam/steamapps/commo
Happened to me too... annoying.
It's the Adaptive MSAA that does it. Switch to regular MSAA... Super Sampling kind of works, but there are a lot of flashing textures during combat.
Thanks, all!
That makes sense... guess I just haven't encountered one yet, as I've only been playing for a few days.
I've seen mentions of being able to recruit out of monster lairs, but I've never been given the option. Can you recruit from every monster lair, or only some of them?
There's an ability that popped up when one of my heroes leveled, and, even though it was rare, I didn't get it because I didn't really understand the terminology. It gave a bonus against opposite races, Humans vs. Fallen. I've looked, and can't find a race stat, so I'm confused... is it just humans, or humanoids, and what exactly is a Fallen?
I actually got white screens with the adaptive version, but otherwise it sounds like we're experiencing the same thing. I just set it to MSAA... the quality isn't as good as super-sampling, but it's a lot less annoying than having flashing textures.
So you can have, for example, a challenging map with normal opponents? If so, very sweet.
I love the game so far, but one thing I'm disappointed in is that it is not as brutal in the beginning as all the reviewers said it was. I was under the impression that, even on lower difficulties, you had a 50/50 chance of making it to the 20th turn because of monsters roaming around everywhere. I love that sense of danger... if you've ever played Demon's Souls or Dark Souls, you know what I mean. Is the problem that I'm playing on Normal difficu
Version 1.12. During combat, there are tons of flashing textures. I don't think I've ever gone through combat without it happening. It's not a deal breaker for me, but it sure is annoying. I'm running two HD7970 in crossfire... does anyone know of any major problems with these cards? In the past, with some games, I've had situations where there was just that one setting that you could toggle, and all of a sudden things were perfect; hopefull
I'm very new to the game... just started over the weekend. I have a crystal source next to my city, and I can't decide whether or not it's worth it to spend multiple turns building the necessary upgrade to use it at this point in the game (my city just went to level 2, so it's pretty early). What exactly will I get from crystals? I checked the in-game encyclopedia, and it mentions the thing you build, but I can't find anything about the resource i
I also wondered about this... I believe it mentions that higher numbers lead to better performance. I have two HD7970s, so my system is a powerhouse, and I can't get it to reach the higher number either.
I just started playing this today, and I'm not seeing one of the features that I've always seen in similar TBS games. Let's say I decide to move someone across the map; in every other game, you will see numbers along the way showing how many turns it will take to arrive to that specific tile. I don't see anything like this, and I can't seem to find an option to make it appear. Am I missing something?
