Vetrar quest icon still visible even after defeating him. Got the sword and the heart, but the icon will not go away and cannot settle his lands nor build outposts to extract the resources.

Received a message that a death shard was now in the limits of my city and I should try to build on it. All that I saw was a dark square that was labeled Death Shard, but was unable to build on it. Image is at above link. The debug file is at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4071418/debug.err.
