lol, it was probably a problem when I was using fleets of 3 frigs against yor nightmare torps. I just quit that game.

I do tend to put engines on Battlecruisers because as SCamb said, they can still be good warships even with bulky engines on them. However, coupling them with one of my fleet support ships is always nice as well. I've never got to massive hulls, (I will call them capital ships even though in Galactic Civ frigates up are classed as them.) Battleships then. My question is this: Is there any point getting them? When I start seeing the AI develop Battlecruisers of their own, should I go to ca

"Two starships against a station? I don't think they'd risk it."-Gul Dukat to Captain Sisko. In an AAR I've been reading, I've seen starbase battles in Twilight of the Arnor. However, when I attack a starbase or a starbase of mine gets attacked, I just get the 'single ship veiw' (both sides fire one shot and then the loser explodes.)

Nice! Please post some more of either the Drengin AAR or this, as I love both of them!

Wait a second, I didn't know you could get Dread Lords as AI? Nice though!!!

In my first games I did the whole colony rush thing (though quite inexpertly) and crashed my economy almost straight away by buying ships to aid me. That deterred me from doing a colony rush at all, and instead I looked at building ships and taking advantage of rescources, colonizing the better planets and forgetting the Mars like ones. This got me much further into the game but in the end the AI have vastly bigger empires an I just can't stay competative. (In my last game I was best frei

Agreed. I usually try to aquire frigates asap (though not straight away as it takes a lot of time really early on) As Terran Alliance I generally research armour and missiles, as the evil civs seem to generally go for mass drivers and eventually I have my main conflict with them for some reason or other. AS for engines, I've found fleet warp bubbles can take care of that problem, as long as I can aquire some logistics skills. <span styl

Has anyone got any good ship configurations if playing as Terran Alliance? If you've got any good all round ones then please share them with me.

Whether it's twilight or dark avatar, there always seems to be one race to rule them all, one race to find them. Sometimes Drath, sometimes Arceans, sometimes Drengin and sometimes Yor. I'm always Terran Allaince because people seem to find them easy. In this last game, the Arceans and the Yor (the former being far more powerful than anyone else) were fighting my normal coalition of the Altarians, Iconians, Torians (who were wiped out by the Drengin) and me. For some reason

Do you mean the folder twilight is installed in, or the thing in the start menu which says 'games?' If the former the I can't find the file you mean, if the latter then it's not in that 'games' tab, nor does it now show up in my uninstall/change program tab.

To refer WAAAY back to the begginning of the post... I would like to commend the crew of the TAS Enterprise. Here's why: Unlike A CERTAIN Sci fi crew who I WILL NOT MENTION, the crew of the enterprise DID NOT have a near omnipitent being to send them back. NOO, they had to suck it up and use minimal power to pass through Drengin territory and to get back to their own quadrant. My point: SCREW VOYAGER, TAS ENTERPRISE FOR THE WIN!!!!

Last night I changed the screen resolution for Galactic Civ 2 Twilight which is the only explanation for what happened when I tried to turn it on this morning. BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH!!! Or at least, it tries to be (still about a third of the screen can see desktop) It is the ultimate edition and I can still play the other 2. Tried uninstalling then installing again but same problem. Running as administrator doesn't help. Any ideas? Dark Avatar is alright but
