Okay, I did an AAR a while back which I abandoned because I couldn't get pics. Now I know how to get pics I'm thinking of doing a new one, but this forum is looking very dead to me. So, my question is, is there anyone left here, and if so, would you read a new AAR?

Okay, I've just started to notice that there are some very un-original races in my GC2. For example, the Arceans have the smae hulls as the Terrans and the Torians the same as the Iconians. Acutally, when I was checking this out by starting an iconin game and a torian one the ship " icon" for the iconian colony ship was green! This only seems to happen when I play the races. Is this normal and if not, is it a known bug?
Great idea, I'm in. I think the Kushana Initiative sets a great example of how to play it-simple but lots of fun. Sanbox politics; someone puts forward an idea, then everyone votes and that's that. Personally I think we should just leave it at forming parties to advocate certain policies; voting to see whose in charge can get messy.
The whole Yor idea was done brilliantly, you really captured the essence of the Borg! The robot thingy reminded me of the King Kriptor from Supreme Commander II. :) Hope to see more from you soon!
Now I've started an AAR I really need to know how to get screenshots using print screen or snipping tool onto my forum post. Can anyone give me step by step instructions?
Episode 3: The Threat of War Captain’s log, 15 th Apr 2228 Today is a great...er, sad...day for the crew of this ship. It turns out that those cute little squirrely guys weren’t so nice at all and killed him when he landed on their planet. We are all...er...very sad... at his loss. You know what that means? I AM THE CAPTAIN! YEAH BABY! Anyway, we decided to go an visit the sp
Episode 2: A Financial Crisis? Switching research to 40% would allow me to gain some key economical techs and meant I was only losing 64 BC a week. Still, a financial crisis had hardly been averted. Having constructed a mining barracks on mining starbase 70, (the moral resource) I constructed a economic starbase in the Sol system. However, without further research it wasn't going to do much to help the situat
Started an AAR which pretty much shows you how I tend to play. If anyone would like to check it out that would be great!
Episode 1: Introductions I've just started a game for TOA and had some amazing luck. So, if there was any time to try making an AAR, it would be now. This will be my first AAR for GC2 and my second ever AAR. Now, I realize if I want to do an AAR I need pictures, but I've had a lot of trouble with doing so thus far. Can anyone give me some very explicit instructions? I'm a noob to GC2
Feedback would be very much appreciated!

Pleeaase update soon! This is the best AAR I've ever seen!
Is anyone doing an AAR which will sort of give me a kind of guide to playing this game properly, and making good use of my research to produce a fleet to beat em? Every time I've tried normal difficulty so far I've just been overwhelmed by a fleet that either vastly outnumbers my own (that's usually our friend Kona) or is vastly superiorly technology (glances at the collective)
Here's the ugly truth: GC2 is dying and though it was one of the best games of its time that time is rapidly coming to a close :(. I pick up GC2, I play it, and realize just how awsome the ideas are. Design your own ships, build your empire, watch the battles. Everything's great except for the last part. The battles are so bad I can't enjoy the good parts any more. A beam will go straight through an enemy's hull and then make a small explosion a few seconds later. A missile wi
I will not! There is a big difference between normal and beginner, I can quite easily take over the galaxy in beginner, everyone is a pushover and the game does not require much srtrategy at this level. I want to have to FIND a way to survive, expand and make my way in the game, I do not want to be dominant from the start.
Favourite AAR. Really like this one! Very enjoyable story! Please keep going with it, I'd be devastated if it slowed down again. The Great Galactic war may be over, but from what I can conflicts are already heating up again. The Arceans are strong and together with the full force of the Korx they may be able to stall the Torians. One of them needs to realize the real threat and take out those ascension starbases. As that conflict grows, things seem likely
I did not say Galactic Civ 3 was a realistic possiblilty, just that I'd like to see it and I'd like to see the above things in it.
Perhaps since the AI could not properly handle TA (or so I have heard from none-noobs) it does need an overhaul. The AI in the game Star Ruler which I have got these examples from seems to work alright with it.
Er, what exactly is the Metaverse?
Also, do you think more enhanced design features are a good idea? (As I said: power generators, life support, bridges, ammo and fuel and the like)
Some better ground battles might be good too, DA was alright but TA land battles were just pulsing flags on a map and a few screens...How about a vehicle and ground troop designer as well as a starship one?
I love this! The Altarians are evil, but pretending even to themselves that they are doing it all for the greater good. Ok, if this were not an AAR I'd say that the Torians rebel and the Terran Alliance steps in to aid them, as the Terran Alliance does. Maybe some of the other 'good' races join in as well, and it's insurrection on all fronts for the Altarians as slaves are freed and planets liberated. In response, the Altarians commit some terr
No, what I mean is visual. Galactic civilizations is not about tactics, it is about strategy. However, I think the visual displays do not do the game credit. On the whole tactical idea though, I think it would be cool if you could take command of a single ship, design bridges and then hop in. However, this I think would also deviate from Galactic Civ's charter. All I want is some nicer vfx, and Sins is a great exampl
Ok, I really do love this game, I got it a long time ago and have played it on and off, but there have been a few, ever present problems for me. The space battles just don't cut it. Often I really can't tell who's shooting and whose shot with beam weapons. Missiles and mass drivers will fly up, stop when the get to their target, and then blow up a second later.
Finally! I love this AAR, can't wait to see more!!!
