My guess is a combination of: Game length. The Longer the game, the less score Victory type. Some victorys are probably worth more then others. My guess is Quest, spell of making, conquest, then Alliance, in decending reward Game dificulty. This one speaks for its self. Higher dificulty, higher score. I personally just won a Normal Conquest game against 5 AI and got 12k (3rd highest rank), but i also had well over 10k pop &
