Reading all this discussion about steam reminds about when DVD's started taking over VHS tapes. Man those poor VHS people were super pissed. I'm not knocking on people who won't/can't use steam. They have their reasons, which are valid to them even if they don't make sense to us. It is their CHOICE not to use steam (or as some people just can't due to internet restrictions). However li
The list of features and changes in the expansion is right on the nose, I expect great things from this franchise in the future. The only dark point is the Steam-only thing. Don't get me wrong, I use steam, but whenever I have a choice not to, I don't. Before the Steam fan-boys jump all over this, consider this. The people who under no circumstances want to install steam on their computers, are not pitchfork bearers s

I've been playing the game since the beta, I have seen a lot of things come and go. I'm definitively curious to see what the team can cook up for the next expansion. Well, my five suggestions would be: 1. Pathfinding Fixes (already been talked a lot in this thread, I'm not sure how much of it made into the 1.2 patch). 2. Control over how and where roads are built. Don't need to be tile b

I am not saying AI on higher levels cheat, because I really don't have that information, but since they usually do, I just play on normal. I believe challenging is the best ai without cheating
Thans a lot for the info!
There are some devastating endgame spells like volcano and grip of winter. The shadow portal thing can get nasty on smaller maps as well.
Hmm I never saw one of those. I guess they are Fallen-only spells? What especifically they do? Googled about it but I had no luck. EDIT: I found some things about it. So grip of winter freezes city production (global?) and Curgens Volcano it's a nuke? I guess I better play
You *need* to be online at some point to do the checks, but this stuff is initial setup, not *every time*
I didn't say you need to be online every time. I said that to get Steam to work on offline mode you have to be online first, as you admited, and that being necessary to go online for you to activate offline mode defeats the purpose of offline mode. Hilarious how persistent a myth can be, even when the contrary is already stated in the same thread.
I will let steam support answer that for me: </

Sometimes, I don't want to conquer a city. Most of the times, actually, when I think I have enough cities and I just want to destroy my opponents, I favor a scorch the land approach. In MoO, you could build a planet destroyer. Instead of conquer my enemies, I exterminated them. What I suggest is not a simple raze the enemy city. I suggest magics that can turn fields into desert or burning lands, that no man can settle, or a frozen tundra that cities can't flourish in. I want&nbsp

I don't use steam and I avoid it like it was death. Too much DRM for me and I don't have a internet connection - I only use it on my university on my laptop, which is not as good as my desktop in terms of performance. And to get Steam to work on offline mode you have to be online first - which is stupid and defeat the purpose of offline mode. Also, I do not like to not own my games and own just a "license" to play it. So, I like the actual DD Stardock uses, and would p

I like sprawling, large cities. I like cities the way they are now, but I wouldn't mind if they were more civ-like, although IMHO the cities the way they are now have their charm and their mark on the series. I would say to make it optional, everybody choose the type o city they want, but I suspect this would not be possible to implement in-game. I like the way cities are now, but if it were to add more buildings and you had to change cities to 1 tile city to do this, I would vote for 1 t

Hey, I pre-ordered Fallen Enchantress and downloaded it today. When I launched the game, to my great disappointment, it asked me for a login process. Now, that's not the problem, since I already have my serial key and the email address I bought the game is the same as I use in this forum, the problem is, I don't have Internet access. So... anyone have any ideas on how can I play the game without Internet access? Please?
Starting position can be the death of you also, no tiles that can support a city=no expansion for you!
Well, that's part of the fun, you know. Ever played XCOM? Ever heard of plasma barrage? The game shouldn't aways let you start in a good position. If you are unhappy about where you start, quit and start again. Or ask for an option, like a easy mode where you just start in easy locations. About the UI, I can't talk about. Grabbed the beta
