Just searched this topic last night and found a few replies. Basically, go back to the stone circle with the blade UNequipped. Quest will resolve. Interestingly, the new and improved blade appeared in the inventory of my hero who had started the quest, despite being brought back by a different hero. The one who returned the blade was left without a decent weapon, but it was nice that the 32 damage sword popped up in the inventory of my hero who was on the front

I've got a question. During my first playthrough about a month ago, I didn't know better and built lots of troops. I even designed some units I liked and had full armies for every hero. It was fun! But I came to the forums to search for how to upgrade from a party of 3 to a company or whatever the next bigger group is. Seems to happen about a third of the time that I attempt the quest. Save before stepping up to the second gate, reload as needed. But yes, this needs fixing.

My memory might be faulty, but I just started a game with Procipinee, and she no longer has the +1 mana per season trait. She has also acquired a very harsh "inefficient" weakness that adds 25% to the build time for structures. Pretty good nerf in my mind, and I don't see it mentioned in the patch notes.
