OK, so sorry about dredging this up again, but here's something strange... I can boot up the base installation, or the Dark Avatar expansion like that, but if I try to go for Twilight of the Arnor, all I get is the black screen. Edit: Never mind... I seem to have fixed the problem by ditching the old folder in my documents for the game... It was the same directory that held the stuff from before... That was before I reformatted the hard drive. For some reason, whenever I boot up the game, all I get is a black screen. No amount of waiting gets rid of it and I have to ctrl alt del to get out of it. Any help?
Did that, still didn't find a Data/TechTrees. Can I just make a folder called "TechTrees" in the Data directory and go from there?
I'm not seeing a Data/TechTrees folder... There's the Data/English/TechTrees, but not Data/Techtrees.
OK. That answers those questions, one last question, where are the existing tech-trees stored in the GalCiv II sub-directory? Thanks in advance.
OK, I'm still confused... I suppose part of it is my fault, not being very specific on my question... I have several custom races, that I'd like to make custom tech trees for. What is the quickest/best/most recommended way of doing this? Furthermore, can I edit the required techs (like the colonization ones) to change the name or descriptions? And if so, how?
Are the required ones automatically in the tree by default? IE: The Colonization techs?
I'd like to make some custom techtrees, but I really don't want to have to create an entire tree, from scratch, including the things that are universal, like the weapons and defenses techs. Is there some way I can load up in the editor one of the existing trees, do a Save As, and go from there?
Thanks!
Is there a way to make a custom civ naturally good or naturally evil? In a manner of how like the Drengin start off leaning evil? Or are custom civs always naturally neutral?
Thanks for the help on both questions!
I don't know if this is the correct place, but it seems like my best shot... Anyways, is there a way to import custom faction emblems and leader portraits that doesn't involve a massive mod? Say I just wanted to use paint (or something) to create my own faction emblem, could I somehow use it in game?
So, a strange thing happened. The Terran Alliance disappeared, and has been replaced with a generic Create-a-Race. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and it's still gone. I don't use any mods, and I can't restore it properly (as in, rebuild it), it always comes off as some permanently evil faction that lacks the built in bonuses. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I like to use the Terran Alliance as a base for my personal faction (which has also disappeared)
