Hello! By this point, a lot of you have picked up early copies from GameStop, or have been in the beta test for some time. The rest of you are just a day or so away from diving in and pitting your Rook against an enemy Torchbearer in epic gladitorial combat. Tournaments are about to begin, and ascension is at hand! Now, I've been playing Demigod for a long time now (almost a year!) and while the game still impresses me with its visuals, fast gameplay and fun multip
That's weird, my email doesn't say that. It says: "Thank you for your order. Your order has been accepted and is being processed. Please print this page for your records. For questions regarding your order, please contact [email protected] and include your Order number located below. " And it actually charged me instantly too. Back in January though.
That was because you ordered during one of t

When you download and extract any large file, here's how space ends up being used (this is true of any large download-and-extract system, not unique to Impulse): Initial Download: 2GB Temp Folder While Extracting: 2.8GB Destination Folder to copy to after extracting: 2.8GB 2+2.8+2.8 = 7.6 GB, just rounded to 8 for even-ness. The assumption with that 8GB is also that you're downloading, extracting, and installing to the same drive (i.e.

I can answer a few of your points (but not all)... 1. What Parties are involved when a game needs to be activated The act of activating a game occurs between the user's individual machine and Stardock's authentication servers. In this respect, it is similar to other online activation systems. 2. What are the restrictions on activation? Restrictions on activation are set by the game's publisher. This will be on a case-by-case basis.

You can find beta testers in Stardock game credits going back at least as far as Galactic Civilizations II (and probably further back, but I don't have any of the games loaded right now). Testers who are exceptionally helpful over the course of the beta are sometimes asked to do extra testing for us to work out harder to find bugs, or provide more detailed feedback. These testers are sometimes listed in the game credits. I was a community tester back when Gal Civ 2 was bei

I met a few GameRNA guys, and made a joke about game DNA, not realizing that there was a gamerDNA group that actually might be related. I should find their business card. So did all of you go out thursday night, zoomba?
Never heard of GamerRNA myself, so I don't know (a google search just gives me GamerDNA as a possible correctio

Gah, didn't realize he got me on camera. Thought I'd just be a disembodied voice. GDC was an awesome event to attend. No, it wasn't an E3 deal with product launches and game demos every 5 minutes, but it was a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with our peers in the industry. Putting faces to the names and email addresses that fly back and forth across my inbox was great. Being all the way out in Michigan when much of the industry is on the west coast makes

You didn't get a look at the Publishing office in these photos. My current PC count is 4 (three desktop PCs, one laptop) and 5 monitors. Yarlen's desk is pretty well loaded too. I think our new support guy, Dash, has the fewest monitors in the company, but he's only been here a week or two now. Soon he'll have monitor sprawl too! Oh, and I have Cari's cell number. What will the Fan Club offer me for it? ;-)

Just as an FYI, we generally can't talk about titles coming to Impulse until there's a contract signed. So a lack of a response when someone asks "How about you get game X?" isn't us ignoring the forum, it's just that we can't comment on whether or not a game is upcoming. Only once we have a definitive answer such as "Yes, it's coming" or "No, that title won't be on Impulse" THEN we can answer questions. We see requests for games, and do pursue them when posted, so keep as
