I auto-resolve a lot of the fights once I get into plate and above, and never seem to have issues. The only time auto-resolve still fails me is when I haven't been watching my cities and a bunch of monsters have gotten close to one of my resource-generating champion dumping grounds which I've left a few decent guards with as well. Yeah, I assumed having my kids as bards and hiring a few extra bards caused the bugs. Oh well, I'm just tinkering now with the game, seeing all the tech trees. Next time I might just make it so that domination or diplomacy are the only wins, might make this one a dungeon victory to see what that's like.

The subject once again says it all. After wiping out my first enemy the price of all the champions has shot up from 0 guilders for a lvl 1 to 4.3 billion. I'm married and my kids are all strong, but would still love to recruit some of the other champions, though with me controlling over 2/3 of the map and the other kingdoms below half my points, it's not really going to affect the outcome.

Oh god, just found out what's wrong. When it installed 1.1 it didn't override my old 1.0, I was still playing 1.0. It instead installed 1.1 to a different directory. Haha. Thanks for the help.

I'm playing 1.1. Windows 7 did keep saying the game may not have installed properly. Might be a messed up file, then again the 1.1 patch should have corrected it. Haha this game is frustrating, not allowed to build some wonders despite having all the requirements, continuous crashing, not sure what several things do, unable to build harbours in areas that should be legit, still haven't figured out what the tribal alliances and holsten's victory in diplomacy do... Thanks for the replies. Still doesn't seem to work though. My char is now lvl 7, 16 points of charisma, 160 guilders free, traits are adventurer, organised, intimidating, insane. The champions are just named that, champions. Are they supposed to be named? Even then, on other games if they had names I couldn't hire them. Only people in my party are the sovereign, Janusk and a summoned bear. Is it bugged or what is going on? There's a female champion wandering my territory and I want a queen :S

Hello, The title pretty much sums up my dilemma. How do I recruit champions? I never get the ability to talk to them, only a chat bubble with a line through it or the combat icon. It's annoying, especially when there's plenty of them running around near me and I'm stuck with only Janusk. It happens even if I'm much higher level than them.
