I too got errors updating, I had to uninstall and redownload/update the game fresh. Worked fine after that.
LOL, I just tried another Sandbox game, and the AI did the exact same thing. Surrounded me and spammed out cities to take over every resource. That's an interesting approach scifi1950 . I think they should put off making a demo until the game is as it should be. The amount of changes planed need to be implemented. And with an expansion on the way, I think they should wait.
I have the game. It's not that much of a builder, and neither is GalCiv. All you have is a few buildings, and a tech-tree to develop things (ships buildings etc). The game(s) are combat focused, but there are planetary things to watch out for. Happiness, environment etc etc, it's not much if you are looking for a "building" game. Naturally you can take a diplomatic path to win, but it's not very satisfying, and you still will need to develop battle ships etc to protect your pl

@DrAtomic1 I did try the Campaign, but it's so bugged I can't get past the walkway to the other zone. I tried to load a new one, and came across the same bug, but this time once I passed that walkway to the other area, I once again couldn't get past the boulders that blocked to the next step.... So I am sticking to the "Sandbox", as it seems the Campaign has been totally ignored patching/fixing wise.
BlackRainZ, why would I lie about putting the AI to Novice? And I am not focusing on Adventuring or Trade. They both seem dull.... Anyways, it seems to be going far better now that I focus the city bonus on Gildar and try to get as many Champions as I can. Their bonuses are adding up, and very helpful. I just got the game, and am finding the game unbelievably difficult. The gameplay is fine, I understand the mechanics, however my champions are getting destroyed, and my cities overrun. Note I am playing on Novice, but still creatures are overpowering me. I would expect the lowest difficulty to "cheat" and always remain bellow my level in development and champions power.
