Personally, I think that sparse resources is exactly what is intended here in Elemetal. The land was shattered, afterall. On the other hand, I like where you are going with this. Kind of like how v1.1 changed the original layout where any city without a gold mine was an economic drain on your empire, tweeks could make cities at least a positive influence on your magic/metal/food/stuff stores instead of a complete barren sponge in those areas. YAY for more complexity!&n

I too am not a fan of cumbersome trade concepts, and I think the caravan it just that. How about a road building unit in place of the caravan. Once research on trading is complete and a road exists between two cities, trade begins. An enemy unit sits on the road and trade stops until it is removed. Bingo, thread resolved.

1. When a unit goes up in level there is no obvious location to show this. Recommend an info slot on the character info 'sheet' for units so I can tell when that archer that I wanna use with my hero to smack an ogre around a lil' bit has got some time on the battlefield or if it's a newb and I may have to send out a second to help out. 2.
