Have just loaded the latest update (not announced as far as I can see) and should advise I was impressed with the changes--diplomacy now seems to mean something, the variety of quests, treasures, faction differences etc has all improved and the computer player is greatly improved. My compliments to the dev team.

Many games have content that, for whatever reason, is not used by all--I live in central Wales (UK) and my internet speed is at best just over 500kps!!! so many multiplayer games are just not functional, but if a game is inherently good enough to interest me I grit my teeth at 'paying' for multiplayer usage that will not be available to me. Bottom line as always: is it commercially realistic? Given that games players tend to have expensive machines, I think the answer must be ye
Continues to be a game I come back to regularly and the increased differentiation between factions is welcome. Whilst I make huge use of cloud walk--which essentially allows the player to only spend money on one super army-- on the rare occasions when I have not had an air mage by the time war becomes inevitable the lack of this spell makes winning almost impossible as the AI spends a lot more on armies than seems reasonable .
Personally I found the original reasonably playable, and look forward to the finished FE and hopefully a number of campaigns! How can anyone be unhappy with a commercially oriented firm who are still willing to accept they are less than perfect and provide a free game which even in its present state has provided me with hours of pleasure, even if at the moment it seems impossible to complete a large campaign without running into terminal mem problems--but after all this is still a beta test.<
