My hero just got defeated and I noticed that its profile says that its got a "broken leg" and a "missing ear" and that as a result is suffers from some penalties. Do these last forever or only while the hero is recovering?

As far as I can tell there isn't any naval gameplay. This I feel is bad, not only because it means the game has less gameplay depth but also because it means that the actual maps then self's are less varied. Are there any plans to add naval gameplay in the future?
