I have created a custom faction however the background when I'm on the selection screen for a new game is the same as Magnar. I wanted a swampy background, where can I change this and can I use any background from the unit cards?
^^ I agree Notepad++ is a great text editor
OP, just find "CoreItems.xml" in your Fallen Enchantress/data/english/ install directory. Open it with your favorite text editor and find the entry for Salted Pork. copy it and paste it into a new file, such as myMod.xml. Change Salted Pork to Chicken Leg (or whatever you want to change it to.) Save. Copy this file into your My Documents/My Games/Fallen Enchantress/mods/
I'm trying to test a simple mod I've made, trying to add more poisons to the Assasins Tools trait, but I want the more advanced poisons to have to be researched. I tried the cheats in this post : https://forums.elementalgame.com/426222 But they didn't seem to work for me, will try again of course. I was just wondering if anyone could supply me with the info so I can see if I'm doing this mod this righ
Awesome, I'll start playing around with it, thanks
As there title says, are there any plans to make a beginners modding guide? I've never modded a game, but I really want to experiment with it with FE. I have taken some college level computer science classes and am pretty computer savvy, where/how should I start, even if starting is just to educate myself?
I've started making my own maps, it's lots of fun...but I agree with Cruxador, if you're going to break this long held tradition of no DLC, and instead giving paying customers extra content, wit occasional paid for expansion packs... a map pack is really not the way to go for your first DLC. Please bear in mind that there is still a good amount of content I haven't seen, so if I mention something that is already in the game, excuse me.
I'm 29, a GC2 crossover, and have played AD&D (and other roleplaying systems/tabletop games) since my teenage years.
Just started playing a game on a medium sized map, (had been playing on smaller ones) and encountered a huge field of land that I could settle on, like 10x10 approximately. My question is, how many cities can I build on this? Just one, or if I build on the edge will there still be spaces to build on the far opposite side? Or is it that settling an area turns off all contiguous possible build spots? Thanks
I was playing a normal sandbox game and realized I wasn't logged in to the service that tracks our achievements, etc. (Don't know what it's called) I figured I should log in so I could claim any achievements I happens to unlock, so I logged in, the music stopped for a few seconds, then started again, then the game crashed. I usually log in at the main menu, and this is the first time I played since downloading the 1.01 patch, so I'm not sure if it's related. <
It's just like Heavenfall said. Just think about the kind of games we were playing in 1990, and how much everything changed by the time we got to 2000, many of the games of that time period were great innovations, nothing like them had been seen before, I think that's why I look back on that time and have so many good gaming memories.. Meanwhile, on the pther hand, we've been playing the same types of game for around 15 years now, and it really is the same old thing. Indie d
It happens constantly, like every 10-15 minutes or more frequently, I have started up new games, and played using auto saves, but it's not really the same as being able to play normally :) Seems pretty fun though, from what I've been able to get to.
No, sure haven't, but I could reset it to defaults just in case, but I'm sure I haven't changed anything
The game crashes on me constantly. When I look in the debug.err file, it always seems related to being "unable to create vertex buffer" http://pastebin.com/index/eLjuFHWu Is this a known issue with a fix perhaps?

Don't see any specific actions that cause this, it happens quite a lot. Included are links to my debug.err and crash dump. http://pastebin.com/Gy6S6MGn https://dl.dropbox.com/u/61469357/FallenEnchantress1_00-2012-10-27T13-49-15_979.zip
Yeah I've even searched for *.zip and inspected the results. It seems as if the crash report zip file wasn't created. Can anyone explain this? Or am I just missing something?
I'm experiencing a strange repeatable bug where if I start a game the wander around with my sovereign and don't found any cities then I die and get sent to the main screen. After this if I try to start a new game at this point the game crashes. I haven't been beta testing this game for very long so I may be making a mistake, but this is the only crash I have experienced however I can't seem to find the .zip file I am supposed to post with this. Here howe
Will I be able to play this game enjoyably with an nvidia geforce fx 5500?
