yes they are way too small. I am fond of the "Big Huge" maps for Rise of Nations" Lots of room for expansion and places for specials. Additionally I feel that there are not enough decent places for settling either. almost no 5,x tiles...

OK I am currently using 0.914 on 3 machines. Overall I love the game. However I do have one gripe that I hope is beta only. I do not always have Internet acess when I am away from home. So far I have enjoyed playing V 0.86. It is very playable on my desktop systems. Both are AMD quad-core 840 Phenom II's w/ AMD 6570 2GB videocards. Differences between systems is basically 8GB of DDR2 and 16GB of DDR3 and chipset on MB (790GX and 880G). One crash in a game though not sure why it did. Frankly when E: WoM first came out it was playable. It was some of the patches that seemed to ruin the balance. the latest 1.4 version has restored some of the balance but not all. So far the 0.86 version of E: FE has been enjoyable. If the current improvements are any indication I will probably be gifting FE to some of my friends and family.
