As you get no warning when enemy/neutral enters your city visial radius it actually serves for nothing. You have manually to check every city every turn anyway. It may be usefull if a hero with organized trait and 4 movements per turn gets near your city... I still didn't have a luck with such "smart" AI.

I am a big fan of 4x games and i deleted the game after I saw 1.07 didn't fix anything from the serious flaws of the game. Decided to make a try after 1.08 but still cannot force myself to install it at new... not deliberately - just "let me do something else and then i will install it"... "5 min more and I will install it"... "I am too sleepy now but tomorrow surely will install it"... Or said another way - I guess i will be rather installing Civ 5 after few days (although it will be
So they fixed one of the major flaws of the game (the suicide sovereigns) and zillions of minor bugs but nothing about the other major flaws... Sigh... it is good thing the Civ 5 is coming in couple of days.

Looks like the reviewer just clicked 2-3 min here and there and wrote the review. Actually the cloth map option is one of the few things which are made as had to be made.
You must be very talented to get overwhelmed in this game. Juts research some warfare techs, build a squad of lowly militia and rush all the adversares on the map.

At the least the devs understood they screwed big and try to save the game unlike some other companies (Lucas Arts comes to mind very quickly) which have the attitude "What!!! Don't you know we are great??? How dare you not to like our game??? Give us your 60$ and get lost!!! We are here to grab your money, not to be liked by you!"
The problem with "easiness" is: 1. The "lost library" gives too much boost to the player if you tap one early in the game and 2. There are 5 kinds of "tech" to research... but what matters quickly in the game is the "warfare" tech. Tap an "lost library", then research some armor, weapon and making a squad of 4 and you can wipe the map with the AI still researchign diplomacy and such. Actually you must put special efforts "not" to win with all this stupidities the AI an
This is the best reason against city spam I have read so far. Having too many cities starts to take the fun away...longer turns. Imagine a 4v4 multiplayer game where everyone has to wait for the city spammer because it takes him 20 mins to manage his numerous cities. I don't see why this would take long. If they put in a good city management screen, this should take few minutes tops.
One more "IF" for t
I think it is obvious. Spamming cities is bad because it may be the best way to win the game but the purpose of any game is to be fun. Having to manage 20 cities - own and captured from the AI (and you cannot raise them coz the AI will rebuild them ASAP) takes away all the fun. Not to mention there is no warnings when enemy/brigands/monsters enter you teritorry so you will have to disable the "auto end of turn" feature and manually check each of the cities each turn. Or just put eve
The AI spams the cities as crazy as long as it has food to support hem. The AI assuems it is better to have 10 lvl 2 cities then to have 3 lvl 4 and 1 lvl 5. This reminds me of the unssucessfull Firakxis try to limit the city spam by economic means... and they failed miserable with the AI unable to develop adequately under such restrictments. That's why the gave huge bonuses to the AI even at the medium difficulty levels (although Firaxis clamed at those levels the AI and the human player are
Everyone already knows about the non-existing AI - like my last game my neighbour wanted tribute and when refused declared war only to start to spammming my territory with lone Pioneers. I made a stack of lowly militia and went to his border towns just to find out they were left with a single wimpy hero as defender. But now to the very important suggestion - make a message to pop when an enemy/neutral/bandits/mobs enter my territory. With the messed look of the towns it
As I already did my suggestions to the devs - find any 13 years old kid and let him play for 10 min; he will how to remake the controls. With the current controls it is boring click-fest.
With the city highlighted, press V to "Vacate" the city. All units will move outside of it. The only problem is that you can't choose which tile they exit on, which is bad if you want them to leave the city to attack someone.
Heh... The basic principle of the game is why something to be done nice and easy when it can be done clumsy and frustrating:-( Where remained the old double-click? Not to mention the such
Explain me pls what is the difference between "epic" and "normal" pace? I am used to consider "epic" pace means much slower game - lots of more turns to research the same tech, lots of more turns to build the same building etc. But it seems this is not the case in EWoM game and the useless manual says nothing about it (at least the turns for building are absolutely the same).
How much those triats increase/decrease morale? If is is just few points they are not much worth, if they increase/decrease 20 points they are very important. Spoil me pls:-)
1. I miss the ability to Ctrl-# armies. It is PITA to select the units in an army every time after i send them to the city.
The truth is the campaing is just a badly designed tutorial which don't help at all for the most aspects of the full game. Also i read already in the forum the magic "way" is underpowered. In my campaign the AOE spells of my sovereign missed most of the targets so they were just mana waste. Maybe a buffs spells like haste etc will be much more usefull.
I am a very new player and just finished the campaign which nothing more but simplified tutorial; then started a custom game and despite the unnerving and clumsy interface started to appreciate what the game has to offer... and started to understand it is not clear from the descriptions how important/unimportant are the different sovereign choices/race advantages/disadvantages etc including possible synergies between different traits/advantages etc and
