I would recommend the latest adaption of Sherlock Holmes. Its a Miniserie with 3x90min episodes per season. Absolutly brilliant. Cumberbatch (Holmes) and Freeman (Watson) are fantastic.

The new scout ability make walks through the forest the same as a walk through a grassy field. I miss the several things previously available early in the game: free resource builds, 3 move units, the Aura of Commerce spell, having lots of guildar. I find I would rather do

Why should anyone do this? The last build is so much better. Why should anyone play without all the faction differentiation they have done? The roaming monsters from the last build are great too. Not to speak about hundreds of fixed bugs and all the balancing. If 0.86 is your game? Great. Have fun with it. You are lucky, you don´t have to wait until fall. But don´t pretend Derek and the team did anything wrong or at least, say something useful and explain what you mean. </

In my game with Kraxis the AI uses much more then spearmaidens. Gilden had winterguards, deadeyes, mages, drolgards and what not. But this is..
The problem is that human players would much rather have a few very strong units that several weaker ones. We find ways to prevent our units from taking much damage, while the AI loses every battle from turn one. Our units level up and gain tons of Hit Points.
...is true.
I think I'll just stop participating for awhile. It's not enjoyable for me to have to defend what I consider an obvious statement: if you are expecting us to make basic game design changes at this stage then this might not be the game for you. Someone above just suggested we get rid of cities entirely. I'd respond to that directly but it seems inevitable that we will get people who will insist that we take every suggestion seriously lest they throw WOM in our

I voted excellent. Excellent for the fact that this is a beta and excellent, because i think you are 100% on the right track. I love the faction diff. and i know there will come more of it. And with that and more quests, more spells, maybe more monsters this game is great fun. I would love to see more unique nonhuman units. (like the golems for gilden). Keep up the great work. I know i sound like a fanboy. Maybe thats what i am. I don´t care.... :) EDIT/</
We had this discussion before about spells that allow both strategic and tactical casting. It is basically the same principle as in Master of Magic and I think it is perfectly fine as it is. As you said, if you cast the spell on the strategic map, you have to pay an upkeep to make it permanent. The option to cast it during a tactical battle is only as an "emergency" to quickly benefit from it, but it will fade away after the battle. Suppose you

Open the enchanment ledger to dispel magic. Then click on the unit name or the name of the enchantment. Then click "done". Suddenly the old char.overview or the old spell description pop up.

I don´t like that, because casting stoneskin in a tactical battle is a waste of mana. Because if i cast stoneskin on the strategic map, i have the buff for more then one fight. Even with the maintance of 1 mana its better, then casting stoneskin in every tactical battle. Its cool that i can cast stoneskin in a tactical battle, but it should not vanish after the fight.

13 Replies 10,681 Views

There are "two versions" of the same spell. A tactical stoneskin and a strategic stoneskin. When i cast stoneskin on the strategic map its a permanent buff with maintance, but if i cast stoneskin in a tactical battle its only for this battle. I think this is not an ideal... (i played with gilden)
but actually you need to research everthing out of one level before you can research
Really? I don´t think so. For example. I researched knowledge (tier 1) and then mining (tier 2) without civic (tier 1) .

There is a lvl. 5 Champ. and i want recruit him. It says "Learn recruiting", but i can´t find the tech "Recruiting". It was in the civil-tree, right? But there is no recruiting. (i also checked warfare and magic) Is this a bug or do i miss something?

From the start Gildens Sov. Markin has the Path of the warrior. And with lvl. 3 he can choose another path? So i can have the path of the warrior and for example the path of assasine? I don´t know, if this is how it is intended. I´m just confused. :)

After reloading Champ. Iriel and a Wildling Warroir standing on the same tile... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12734598/gilden%20same%20tile.EleSav And if i defeat a monster on their own lair, than i have have to leave this tile and return to loot the lair. I don´t know if this is how it should be. PS: As always...sry for my english. :)
