I agree with pretty much all of this. I hope SD is looking to MoM for a lot of their inspiration for the new system. One thing I'd like to add, though, I think they would be fine keeping separate summoning and enchantment schools as long as they were heavily buffed and had unique abilities. I.e. enchantment could counterspell, attenuate or amplilfy existing effects, etc. For example, if you "enchant" your fireball now it does double damage, hurray! In addition to
I think the proper way to balance archers is to make them more true to life. A skilled bowman can fire what, 6 arrows a minute? To a distance of about a hundred yards? I don't know the statistics exactly, but the problem with bows is they don't pierce heavy armor, that was the advantage of the slow-firing crossbow. If you keep bows as they are, but add an "armor" statistic to the game, a la medieval: TW then bows will be balanced. In the short-term though, maybe
I agree with the bit about having more content instead of less, even if we have to pay for it. I'd still pay for a $40 content expansion if it had a good feature list and the base game was already solid when the expansion was released.
I like my wee pewter dragon, although I'm too lazy to paint it, it has a place of honor on top of my monitor next to my silver Intel man and Patton miniature (I wish I had a plush miniaturized giant space hamster to round out the collection). I like the poster, too, I think the color was really well done and the border is neat. It has a place on my wall next to Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark and my kickass PST poster (this one: <a href="http://www.rpgfan.com

There is no question here, who you have selected. Half the time when I'm playing now, I often do not even know who or what the heck I'm targetting without squinting at the bottom. .
YES
I'm not saying that the one shown in
It is important to me as a player that you also place quite a bit of focus on creating additional content for the game - not just mechanics. Races that are unique, instead of carbon copies, would be a start. And no, I definitely WOULDN'T count campaign maps into this, unless they're significantly different from sandbox and last more than 1-2 hours.
I agree with this. [quot

As has been stated several times these days, this forum is full of ideas, suggestions, even equations, or just links to go and consult. People giving all this didn’t hoped to see their ideas specifically make it into the game but they hoped that the devs would skim through them and pick some to create enhance their vision. Wow, that UI does look really good. And the world is so pretty and full of contrast... and there are no tiny buttons! Slap an empire tree on there and I would love to have that as the in-game interface. And like Istari said, if you reskinned that to be more "parchmenty and crystal bally" it might look even better.
It would be nice if you could set up team games, or at least set relations at the start like you could in GC2. I agree with the OP's idea about resource settings, also like in GC2.
I for one would love Total War style battles, but the current system could be great also. It would be nice to see late game armies get a lot bigger, though.
I find a 4.0 to be a bit harsh, but I've also never had a single OOM issue or in-game crash. I think the reviewer made a lot of valid points (although he really focused on the negative imo) and a 4.0 score in and of itself is fine because he justified. What I take issue with is the fact that gamespot has no consistency at all with their ratings. Elemental gets a 4.0, Farcry 2 (which was total rubbish, worst game I ever bought, and one of the main reasons I a

I think most of what you said still applies, especially #s 2 and 3.
