Cripes, you're like some kind of weird mod making machine. Thanks for the update Heavenfall. I swear, one day I too will be able to actually finish a session without finding an interesting mod that "forces" me to start over. [e digicons][/e]

Heh, I could swear I read just the same OP when Baldur's Gate 2 launched (was involved in beta). Heck, I feel like this kind of disappointment the standard for any game that's more complex than Pong. Yeah, Stardock might have been a bit too optimistic when they planned how long the development phase would take. A lot of game developers are. But regardless of subjective "fun factor" the game does work, even at 0-day release version. That's what the Beta phase is really about. If you do
Heh, I can't help but think that the entire scaling problem of sovereigns/champions would go away if you could give them some kind of commander functionality. Essentially add a squad to them so you get to keep their abilities but gain the hp, def and attack of the squad. Also, it sort of feels a bit odd that I can't upgrade units or add single units together into new squads.
I actually liked the sovereign options the most. Getting unique starting equipment makes for a way more interesting early game. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for sharing this mod. Learned a lot from it. I don't think it's especially overpowered since magic is fairly low powered (well besides minion mayhem perhaps).
There's no way to explain this without sounding like a douche, so I'm sorry about this.
A douche? Not the slightest. You simply pointed out that I still have a heck of a lot to learn about modding this game. And learning is the other half of the battle. [e digicons][/e]
Heh, I tried making a nation sort of similar to yours. Gave up when I realized I couldn't get rid of the Kingdom of part of the name (Amazons with a king?). Bet the developers never thought that would ever be an issue. Working on aquatic-themed nation instead. [e digicons]:seal:[/e]
Well if my experience shows me anything it's that these things will sort themselves out as long as the board remains friendly. The main problem is confusion, as so much information is going around in just one place. A subforum or two (one for releases and one for works in progress) would help a lot. A lesser problem is lack of knowledge about modding. A modding wiki, or simply a structured thread containing links, with all advice, tutorials and discoveries would help with that. Best t
Great to see more unofficial patches appearing. It's a chore but greatly appreciated by both us players as well as the developers. Will you add the building bugfixes by James00D to your mod - Link ? Would be great to have all fixes in one place.
Awesome work and much appreciated. I quickly gave up modding but with this information I might give another try. Game sorely needs more quests.
I should have better documented that one.
Thanks for clearing that up. Mod works just fine now. Great to have the buildings work as intended.
btw, I'll be out most the day but later tonight I'm going to fix the rich trait (via a spawn-able chest at start), remove the duplication of many things, try and add HP (or defense) to all heroes, and maybe start adding some "Ability" traits (tactical abilities like Cleave) and some personality traits (cosmetic).
Sounds very interesting and worth waiting for. Hmm... I was considering some kind of multiplier for all champions stat
I'd prefer the comments about the MAJOR mods be on their respective threads but I'm not all that picky.
Got it chief. The Building fix mod doesn't seem to work as intended. Everything got doubled in game (cost of building, upkeep and bonus). Perhaps I wasn't supposed to stick the file in the main elemental/mods folder?
BTW, do you want comments on your mods in this thread or in each sub-thread?
Archers can't retaliate to melee attacks as it is. Having shields providing a defense bonus against ranged attacks sounds like a good idea, with the bonus increasing with shield size.
Just wanted to pop in and thank you for sharing these mods James009D. It's great to see a modder in action when the game has barely touched the ground yet. [e digicons][/e] I got to agree that downloading is a bit annoying though. Your suggestion to pack the smaller mods (or the perhaps mods you don't expect to update soon) together in one download feels like a good idea.
