Hey everyone, I learned this recently by a friendly poster. And I was a little taken aback. As it seems, the AI has no need for resources as he can go into the negative with all of it's resources (from what I heard, I only saw this with money). This seems to be the major cause for issues in large map games (lengthy games) as the AI will be able to sprout it's best units over and over in all of it's cities making it probably impossible to bea

I know that if you accept a 'demand tribute' request on the part of a neighbor, it can push you in the negative, but to get to -1kGP felt a little weird. And what exactly did you mean by "The AI Factions will never run out of ressources"? They don't have costs for building? or do they get "magically" more resources?
Hello everyone, I've been reading the posts of a few people, who seem to be saying that the AI isn't strong enough and is easy to break down early in the game. I was playing a Epic, Large Map, Challenging AI & Challenging world. I didn't expand very aggresively but around turn 200, I realized that the major factions had grown to gigantic proportions, their power level was probably 2 to 5 times mine. (depending on the faction). ...
Research stone giant (30 turns)-> summon one (1 turn)-> kill some AI peasants -> win the game Research party (10 turns)-> make one party with peasants (6 turns)-> kills some AI peasants -> win the game Wait for 100 turns before attacking -> best thing AI has is one stone giant... WTF? There are 2 problems... 1. AI can't understand what techs or spells it needs to have for good defense. 2. AI spams nothi
There are techs that massively increase the amount of Arcane and Techical research a city outputs. They are restricted to city levels 4 and 5. You would need to have an awesome starting location to level a city to 5 without satellite cities. As for running out of tiles, you are better off specializing your cities in one or two resources, if only to have room for the higher level buildings.
What are for exam
http://www.1up.com/media/03/7/4/8/lg/462.jpg What happend to the tactical battle UI in this image? It looks like it uses a que system like you would find in Heroes of M&M V. I really like the look of it. Just a random thought, a que system like that might spice up tact battles a bit.
That GUI looks much better than current and que should be much better than current system. Same goes for strategic map GUI. <a
I thought they added a maintenance cost for cities. Capital would be free, first city would be 1, then second 2 etc etc. This isn't the case for sovereigns with the civilized traight though, they basically get a second maintenance free city. At least I thought it was supposed to be taht way, I'm not even sure as I haven't really played a lot x.x.
Incremental costs don't make any sense and are nothing but cheap&dirty w
I have noticed this too and I have tracked problem to starting equipment. So if you want to be able to use any item there is you have to make completely naked sovereign.
