Actually, you can delete custom sovereigns by right-clicking on their portrait in the selection menu.

Interesting thing to note: if we add mana regeneration to items, we'll gain abilities with cooldown.
It shouldn't differ much from adding spell abilities. Try adding that code at the end of the weapon XML: [code="xml"] Unit AbilityBonus A
They are probably packed inside main executable.
I haven't tested those but I see no reason why it wouldn't work for mounts & armor.
