Kings Bounty is quite good. And Armored Princess is even better. For me is a good example of how to stick to the spirit of a game (the original KB, that spawned the HOMMs) and at the same time improve it so it's a lot better than the original but still plays and feels like the original game. I bet when/if Katauri do their own HOMM clone it will be a lot better than HOMM6.
They still can make HoMM 7, but unfortunately Ubisoft's new world of Might & Magic is puerile a

I like the opinion of RPG Watch review. The game is really something between 4X games and rpg/tbs hybrid like HoMM and Disciples and fans of these games will enjoy it more than fans of MoM or AoW. I think this game just isn't for hardcore 4X and wargame tbs gamers, they can give it as many chances as possible and still won't like it. The game still needs polish in removing bugs and more improvements in its RPG aspect.

You can remove anything from queues (either building or recruit) using the tiny 'x' that's in the upper right corner of the portrait. It's hard to see it on larger res and smaller displays.

They're going to concentrate on too many things simultaneously (stability and SP fixes, MP implementation), I'm affraid it's going to generate more problems or new bugs and we don't need more of those really. Don't rush things again! So, wheres the poll? Ed.: And I really think MP and SP are a bit different things (though may share parts of code), if they weren't we would get server software at launch.

I don't like the idea of 1-unit/hex. This kills Civ 5 for me. I prefer n-units/hex and battles resolved on separate combat screens - more realistic approach. Elemental's the way to go, but needs some improvemets ofc. There are some great ideas in Disciples 3 that could be inherited.
I never tried AoW 2 or the expansions, though. I'd check Shadow Magic out if it didn't cost $120 on Amazon. Wow. Even the used copies are $60! Sounds like that one needs to be republished.
I am grateful that where I live the whole boxed AoW anthology (AoW, AoW 2 and AoW:SM) costs no more than 7 bucks and I could easily get it. The game's going to be digitally re-released according to th

Are "out of memory" ATI related bugs? I use nVidia and get them also ... I think memory leaks aren't hardware specific unless one have 8gb of RAM.

I play mostly on cloth map (high threshold set), I zoom in only for building and moving units on smaller distances. Cloth map gives a better and clearer view of the whole play area and it has gameboard feel that is cool.

Oh yes, combat thing is also urgent especially: units placement and faster animations.
That's really unfair. The beta testers never got to test a real gameplay version similar to release, only pared down versions of the game with only limited features enabled at any one time to test them (e.g. only one tech tree at a time). And of the content they did get to test, most of the current issues were reported. However, not all of the is

That's my order of fixes: 1. Balance! Make this game worth exploring and researching powerful magic. Limit rush and city spam strategies especially for Empire. Add more useful high lvl buildings, make offensive spellcasting worthwhile etc. 2. Bugs and exploits: There are too many and too obvious (I can accidentally use one of exploits while building city) to make a list. You had the worst beta testers a game could have. 3. Optimization:
