Started over and it worked.

Same problem here. I cleared both camps, talked to the queen to get permission and saved the game. Before I came back I updated and now I can't get past the blockade. Doesn't trigger a response either. Sounds like it must have been the patch or we would have heard more about it. About to start over... Hope that works.
