Quoting Klydon, reply 4 If you don't start next to or near food and a gold mine at the start of the game, it is really, really tough to get going. I had two game starts where I had neither close, so I quit them and restarted until I got food next to me. My capital did not have a gold mine near it. I did manage to be by a warg spawn point, but of course, my faction can't use them. Starting in a swamp is not my idea of fun since the last t
quoting postPushing the pricing on Bows to 30 and 40 gold is a nerf and strong discouragement to not use them. Sorry, either put them at reasonable pricing and fix the issues surrounding their use or remove them from the game for now until you get it figured out. 4 bowmen may be very expensive, but they are still very deadly. There are plenty of threads on the topics of bows. Nerf? They were always priced that much.
Sorry, mis
I have seen this on occasion and while there is a legit bug, I also have noticed that if you have a single unit engage a monster in single combat, they will fight and it might take awhile for it to resolve since it doesn't go to the battle screen. Turn button greys out during this time and you can't advance the turn, but can finish moving the rest of your units. Lot of times if you either look around for where the battle was or are just patient, it resolves and you can then advance the turn.<
One of the reasons a food location may not be producing is it may not be linked (if it is in your area of influence, but so far away from cities, this can be the case). Click on it and read the note and it should say what city it is linked to. More or less other posters have it on food. It is shown at the top of the screen IF you have a surplus. If you are about to go on campaign, you want some surplus because you may get a city or two that does not generate food from the enemy and yo
I have done a lot of reading, but not posted much. I find the game very addicting even with all its flaws, but I think the addiction is wearing off because of a lot of the issues.I have played quite a few turns into a new game with the patch from last night and will present where my kingdom stands as we go along here. Note: it took me 3 "starts" before I felt like I had a playable position to start. The first one was in a pile of swamps and the second had almost nothing for resources nearby.<
Some good ideas in here with the AP pool. It would also be more easy to interact with moral issues (armies with low moral would take a AP penalty). I also agree on the rounding. I have found myself making units to boost CS just over the next whole number in order to "steal" an extra move or attack. I typically equip my early heroes with weapons that increase CS (staff). They don't attack anyway and the extra actions are what I am after to ensure I can double cast spells as needed. I also abso
Part of the issue for the need of income from the monsters right now is the costs are out of wack for hero gear. You can blow up to 1-2k easy just to deck out 1 hero. For a kingdom generating even 50-100 gold extra a turn, that is a lot of turns doing nothing else at all. Most armies run at least 2 heroes in them (typically a caster and a hero to increase movement). Cash up front is also needed to fuel building big units as well since you have to pay the entire cost up front. Right no
I went through the thread list and while some threads exist for suggestions about specific spells and others have pointed out the very vanilla nature of the spells (spells from each element generally do the same thing with the names changed), none have really backed up and addressed the basic issue of defining the 4 elements in terms of strength and weaknesses and also sorting the types of spells by those strengths and weakness. The game has 4 elements of magic: fire, air, water and e
Playing as Altar on 1.06. When the destroy building button (shovel button), the cursor changes in that pop up window, but when moved out into the city display, it changes back to the normal feather, so you can't destroy any buildings at all. When you move the cursor back over the build display, it remains a feather. I also had a city get attacked by a monster and the garrison lost, but nothing happen to the city and the monster just stood there. Relief forces sh
In my current game, there appear to be some Sovereigns that got cut off from their kingdom. They have been stranded for some time. The first one, the stuck Sovereign is just to the right and up a bit from the city in the middle. His kingdom is towards the bottom of the screen. He just sits at the border there. He has been there since very early in the game. Apparently he went exploring and I built a settlement which later blocked him from getting home. <a href="http://img842.i
