The faction creator is also rather flawed as a program (try making a race with a unique skin color).

I agree. Thirded.

Now, I say Usually, because it does mess up a lot.
Look at the bottom of the screen to see what your city is currently producing. Having to decide that moment does suck, it's like having a pop quiz.
A question for the number crunchers: I have noticed that sometimes, when i

Wouldn't that just be the next "Organised", where you would be stupid to ever not take it?
I think we need more abilities where you are "stupid not to take it". Enough of these, where a person can use a couple per game, and people may actually have to make real, game-changing choices in character creation. Hopefully these choices would result in radically different types of game experiences. As it is, in charact
Ok: my first, super-simple mod is a change in the way research treaties and trade treaties work. Instead of each trade or research treaty giving each person involved a 1.1 multiplier, these treaties will now give a bonus equal to .1 of the other parties income or research. I was very lucky in making this, because the very first change I made achieved my goal. The new problem, however, is that I cannot get the modified treaties to change the old treaties. I would be very gratef
how did you do that? What program would I need.
If you are asking how to create sovereigns with unique skin color, this can be done in the sovereign creator. Start a new game, and instead of choosing a pre-made sovereign, click on the "create sovereign" button. I tried doing the same thing with the vanilla faction creator, but I don't think the colors were working. Changing the colors didn't affect the model that was displayed at all.
Upon further reflection, I don't think there needs to specifically be a new "orc" race, unless someone really wants orcs. What I would really like is a greater fleshing out of differences between the factions that already exist. When I play the empire, other empire and kingdom factions still talk to me in the same way they did when I was playing a kingdom faction. There aren't even any vanilla empire heroes! Also, I have been able to create sovereigns with unique skin colors, but not
In terms of bugs, the latest updates have eliminated most of them for me. I'm not sure exactly what the developers want, but maybe you could provide more information?
Due to defections, I was able to marry off two siblings. I did it just to see if I could, but didn't want to wait long enough playing the game to see their children. One issue this brings up, however, is the need to be able to get more information about the heirs when offering them for marriage.
First, let me express a big THANK YOU to Akil Dawkins at Stardock for letting me tinker with their skeletons and holding my hand while doing so.
They look quite awesome. That said, I am very interested in what you learned when working on them with Akil. For instance: How did you get access to the skeletons?
I, for one, think an orc race would be awesome. Urxen are too similar to humans in my opinion.
Unfortunately, the only stats that matter for the average hero is strength, dexterity and con. Boring, really.
Using 3d ripper DX, I was able to get a mesh into blender by opening the object file it created. Unfortunately, it comes distorted, so objects would need to be adjusted. I haven't figured out how to do this just yet. Thanks for the info. If anyone wants to figure this out, the 3d ripper website says this: <span style="color: #000000; font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font
So does 1.1 count as an expansion? or is it just a major patch for the game.
This is what I'm wondering. It seems really to early to be talking about an expansion.
Great idea, but I think there should also be a less antagonistic way of making the marriage more worthwhile.
I am sure this would be easy to impliment due to the fact that all the critter parts have to be located in the game somewhere, its just a matter of getting access to them.
The problem is that there are several critter "parts": the mesh, the skeleton, the animations, and the skins. These parts cannot generally be swapped and recombined to create new creatures. Right now it is possible to modify the skins of animals and objects, since these are imag
It tried following the steps in reverse to be able to edit the face files. Unfortunately, the havok format seems to go only one way (no import function). I did find that meshes can be viewed by changing their extensions to .hkx.
All the tiles I have seen on this thread look awesome. Nice work!

Since it seems everything goes poof when a sovereign dies, it could just be coincidence that you later saw on
Civfreak, your work is incredibly helpful, but can't we get some dev help on this? It's kind of messed up that people have to figure all this stuff out the hard way.
The attacks of squads don't simply add up when attacking. As I understand it, each (living) member of the group makes an attack using their own attack rating, and the damage is the sum of damage achieved by the members. I think defense is handled differently.
Wisdom can be increased in character creation, but is never mentioned again. Is this stat used by the game? Someone mentions in another thread that wisdom = starting essence, is this true?
In my experience, your champion could still be taken out by a couple lucky shots by a big creature. Maybe this has changed in the last couple updates, though.
I like this idea. I wish more heroes gave similar bonuses instead of the boring +1 to total research or whatever.
