So I'm not sure what 'fact' you want me to consider. Of course, you don't have to agree with my opinion on the game or suggestions for future activities by Stardock.
When they get the engine working, everything else becomes easy. They are already giving buyers of Elemental the first expansion for free.
Well, "everything else" is a lot though: the magic system, the combat, the champions, etc... My point is NOT that I want a discount. I would say: skip the (free) expansions consisting of campaigns that aren't really the core of the game anywa
It's gonna be very hard to get to a stage soon where E:WOM will please most buyers, attract new buyers, and turn the negativity around. With all the problems of Elemental, a month after release now, both technical and gameplay-wise, wouldn't it make more sense if Stardock started working on Elemental2 instead of spending the company's valuable resources on fixing problems of a game that, in the mind of a lot of players and critics, hasn't and won't ever live up to its promise anyw
I agree that Civ games get predictable, and after a while, not so much fun. For me the most fun of 4X is in the early exploring, expanding and exploiting. Beyond that, there is to much micro-management with all the cities and units, especially when flight comes into the game. So mostly, I quit Civ games before the modern era started, just to start a fresh one. One of the major attractions of Elemental for me was when Brad Wardell told an interviewer the management of too many cit
I found the campaign a bit frustrating and even confusing, because its' so linear. There aren't any interesting choices to make by the player. You wouldn't expect that from a strategy game. I would say: the campaign should either be a proper tutorial of the game -which it isn't; or a deep and interesting rpg-like scenario -which at this point, with all the other problems, should have no priority at all. Making the core (strategy) game better should. Maybe later we will see some
Minor Factions Please make them act more like regular factions instead of hammering them into deeper triviality.
I don't agree. You choose a number of factions in the setup of a game and that's what you should get, plus maybe some minor factions. Making them major as well, will clutter the maps rapidly. I agree though that minor factions should serve some purpose, if they are in there at all. They could acts as
I agree. Also, the death of the sovereign and the succession by a weaker leader might then lead to cities separating from the faction to form a new faction, if there is a great champion in a city. In other words: the champion rebels. Other cities in the faction can then join the new faction or stay loyal to the legitimate successor. This struggle for power after the death of a sovereign, could play out over 10 or more turns. It would be an interesting addition the game, with new
Thanks, I could finish the game with auto end turn off. It's still a weird bug though.
Unless one go quickly for the victory (like conquest) on tiny map, the late game is very bad. There are 2 problems There must be also some kind of mechanism to prevent building so many cites. Even when you conquer new ones, you should be able to destroy city because it is too hard to maintain or something. Because maintaining 10+ cities is ugly. Or there may be another way... 1. all major bugs out 2. random (but playable) map generator 3. adding special abilities on battlefield for champions (e.g. like in the Romance of Three Kingdoms series)
I experienced a major, freakish, gamebreaking bug. What happened: I'm playing on a tiny map on turn 205 and with an army consisting of my sov and 5 other units I attack a city and choose 'battle'. I win comfortably, but the result screen shows that all my units apart from my sov have died. When I click the result screen away, the game runs off by itself: I immediately get another battle screen saying my enemies attacked. I now batlle this out with my sole sov and win. Af

What's the use of diplomacy with those minor factions? They have nothing, do nothing...
I, too overlooked the individual difficulty settings for the enemy factions the first time I set up a game, but it's clear now. An idea: why not have an option where the difficulty setting enemy factions are picked by me, the player, but randomly spread over the factions. So for instance I could choose 5 enemy factions; two of which are on higher difficulty setting (thus probably stronger) than me, one on the same setting, and two on lower settings (to create an early incentive
I'm really hoping Stardock wil soon announce that the random map generator will be implemented in the game in the not too distant future, say in a couple of weeks time. Until then there should be enough to enjoy in the campaign and the prefabricated maps with randomized resources. But seeing the latest announcement it looks like Stardock will go down the route of making more seed maps. For now anyway.
