One thing to keep in mind is that the weight display has a feature that can be more annoying than helpful. If you select an unequipped item (select only, not equip it) the champions load bar will update to show what it would be if you *did* equip that item. No doubt AI is seriously hard to do for a game like this. But there is a common thread in the comments and I think areas that if improved could go a long way toward improving the perceived level of the AI. As far as I’ve seen the AI is still not good at defending cities (at least on large maps). If the AI decides to go to war it should be prepared, i.e. ready to launch an attack. If war happens, no matter who initiated it the AI should go into war-mode
I find the Elementals, with the exception of crow demons, to range from useless to utterly useless. Death demons are lackluster, even at 5, and beyond early game are outclassed by any random troop you can build. Sure they have some hp but 2 hits later and they're almost dead. And they hit like wet noodels. :) I find it somewhat amusing that in the scenario everyone is so afraid of the Enchantress and her wraiths. I
There are special abilities that always seem to freeze the game, in tactical battle, for me. v0.86. Often it's a permamemt freeze forcing me to kill the game process. It happens with a freshly loaded game too so not an out of memory issue. The abilities I know cause this: Maul, both used by bears for example or if I have a weapon with maul. Sometimes if I wait it eventually executes at which point the game is ok until the next use of maul. The

Played a game to the end today and this is the feed back I jotted down while playing. I had a great time playing. Not saying much on balance because it's easy to get it wrong with only one game played, but maul + retaliate is win :) AI seemed weak in this game I didn't meet any factions for a long time due to slightly weird map but they didn't seem to have done much. I prefer it on because placing buildings is quite hard otherwise, and it's not at all obvious you are in "place building mode". Also if you have the city hud turned on, which I like, it block half the placement area while in zoomed in mode it's not a big problem.
If they keep building placement it should be made more obvious that you're in "place building mode". Hihglight the building maybe and flash a message across the screen or zoom in on the city. Also when you have city icons turned on it's quite hard to place buildings because the city icon blocks a big part of the placement area. Would be great if the city icon was temporarily removed during building placement.

I like the basic idea but it sounds like the upkeep and ways to generate mana would make mana generation a bit too slow, especially if you're in a serious war. Maybe there will be additional ways to boost generation, though. Also this certainly makes children quite valuable since I assume they won't have an upkeep. Maybe they will even generate mana.
