I also had that strange message where, at the start of the game, one faction died. I think, like the Rust Golems in the water, that the faction spawned in the ocean and drowned. 1. In the early game, the monsters were a threat, especially the big ones like roaming Deadly dragons and Strong army groups. The early game is a lot of fun because of it, but in the late game the challenge from nature sort of dies down and less of the world becomes 'forbidden.' Still, I love how a Dea

I also voted Good. I could pretty much play an entire game of this, unlike the last build in which I couldn't. Damage scaling for melee heroes based on weapons seems to be off, though. They need something which allows them to hit harder based on their level to compensate for how they can't bunch up like units can. Most of the bugs I've encountered had to do with the quests. In the Rust Golem quest, in which I had to kill all the golems that spawned on the map, some
Well, I am hoping they go the GalCiv2 route and make research into each elemental a particular track of magic tech. So, as you research fire spells, you unlock more and more powerful fire spells that you can then learn. But, they should not unlock the same level of spells in other areas. Then, if you want those areas, you have to spend the time pouring research into them. But, keep in mind that as you discover techs, the cost for the next one

Something about the Minor Factions: When I was playing the 1.0 pre-order version, one of the minor factions had a giant drake as a leader. I know you removed him, but that somehow has remained one of the most amazing things about this game to me. From that glitch (intentional or not) alone, the minor faction gained so much flavour in my mind. It was overpowered, sure, but it was fun having them there. Perhaps now is the time to use that to create intentionally unique and wonde

This is excellent news, guys! I was already hooked when I saw the efforts made towards Draconian and Minotaur (seafaring bulls!) models in the 3D thread. I just have a couple of conceptual questions, if that's alright. 1) Given that an Elemental game begins with an initial leader colonising a dead world, what rationale will the Dragonlance mod give for game start, given that the canon continent of Krynn is riddled with established settlements and holdings? Civ games start with the 'da

I'm sure they don't object to same-sex relationships, just to same-sex marriages. Ancient Greeks actually had a similar stance on marriage: Greek men would marry Greek women for procreation purposes, but ended up romancing Greek boys. Meanwhile, the wives would take on female lovers of their own. Nobody objected to this practice, so long as marriages created heirs.

Perhaps not a 30 second fix, but we should toss out Constitution as being directly linked to HP and make HP gain its own phenomenon that is tied, instead, to level gain. Constitution would then be relegated to being either an HP boost modifier, or an HP-regen/resist modifier. Either way, having to dump points into Con just to survive while my champions lose the ability to deal any meaningful damage? Not ideal.

There's also a lot of suspension of disbelief involved with the lack of a succession/dynasty system. Like was mentioned in another thread about how the lack of lore detracts from the overall immersion into the game, the same goes here with the lack of inheritance. So I've killed the Tarthian leader in my borders, and she dies, but what stops her sons and daughters from taking the kingdom and running it for themselves? They're Channellers too, and should be Sovereigns in their own right. Whene

I'm just going to pipe in that I agree with this post. It's a fun game, and I enjoy it greatly, but the lack of implemented and unique lore prevents me from building any sort of meaningful immersion or investment in the game beyond what I imagine myself. Yet, as it stands, when I run into other leaders or cultures during gameplay, it doesn't matter to me who they are, whether they are Empire or Kingdom, because they are in essence all painfully alike in what they will say and how they will ac

I'm a big fan of the Cloth Map, and spend a lot of my time in the later game playing primarily from the Cloth Map, only occasionally coming out to regular view for the minute details (and the giant monsters watching). What I don't enjoy is how tactical battles always force me back to regular view. What I would like to see is an option to switch tactical battles to a Cloth Map view as well--perhaps even a wooden or stone chessboard view, given that the tactical screen is always the same size e

Or implement possible defects, like Crusader Kings has with the production of heirs. INBRED as a weakness of sorts given to children of said unions.

I want my children to be born with their own traits, strengths, and weaknesses. Cowardly sons, Ugly daughters, etc etc. Now that would be a lot of fun for me, :3

Thank you! I shall input them into neutral civilisations to create impenetrable draconic enclaves.

2 Replies 3,862 Views

As this would be great for AARs and just keeping track of minute detailing, I'd love a feature like this! Something that'd let me edit my children's 'history' and 'quote' would be even better, though... I imagine they'd go hand-in-hand somehow?
Personally speaking, I feel like too many games come out these days to be “consumed” and then moved onto. As an “old time” gamer, I want to have a game that I’m playing for years and years to come.
This line really spoke to me and my shelf of 'games I own but no longer play and have only played once' and my HDD of 'games I've been playing since I was in college.' The latter form a really short list (almost all of

Look at the Support forum. There's a sticky there on how to use it to report bugs. EDIT: I reread your response and saw you wished to do it discretely. Too used to just using support forums for reporting bugs. Are you afraid it will affect sales adversely?
1) The nation of Umber keeps contacting me to let me know they would like a marriage. Going to negotiate one with them they respond with 'Of course not, why would I ever force one of my family into marriage with YOUR family?'. I can't offer up gold or diplomatic capital to adjust things, and the balance says 0/0. He only has a daughter, I have two sons now. Either I'm missing something as far as making the offer sweeter for him, or he's contacting me to pester about marr

In the end, I will likely have a game I can play happily for years,

Same reason why I preordered from here in the Philippines. For as whacky as Australia is (remember getting Nintendo games on the same year they were released? Never happened to me in Australia. Ever.) at least there is a release date. In the Philippines the clerks are barely even in the know, and ordering in from play-asia to get a Fed-Ex'd in package would have seen a 105% taxation on the product... Long story short, Impulse is my new best friend now.

Hurray! It's almost 9am here, and I'm already with my students. Waiting eagerly to send instructions to my brother to begin download so I can play when the school day is over, :D. Hopefully my pre-order will have gone through. Ordered 2-3 days ago, but got no confirmation. Seemed like a common thing, so fingers crossed! I've never been so excited for a game before. Stardock, you're amazing.

In any event, whenever the game comes out and you're happy with it enough to release it is fine by me. Thank you so much for your hard work, Frogboy and everyone at Stardock! Today must be really stressful for you. ---I almost mistyped that to say 'Toady' from habit. Only now realizing that one of you is a frog, and the other a toad...

A better position than I'm in. I put in my preorder, but received no confirmation via e-mail that it had gone through, and was told by the FAQ to not resubmit a duplicate order, so I fired off an e-mail to Stardock Sales to be sure, and have yet to hear back from them. Sitting here waiting for early release and wondering if my caution jinxed me out of being part of the 'pre-orders' set. :(
