The fanboyishness of that post is Appletastic :) I'm waiting for my LE to arrive, but I'm going to leave it in the shrink wrap until the AI is improved and the crashes fixed. I've tried my best to like the game, but when 9 AIs at Ridiculous difficulty can't put up a fight (aside from doing a CTD every now and then), it's time to put it aside for a month or two till that's sorted out. Then I'll open the box and pretend it just got released.

Yep, I've noticed this as well - resuming a saved game will turn damaged squads into single units.
falconne2, you play aggressively to win, so you want to be near victims.
Actually I'm a builder too. When I play Civ I only go to war when I have to and prefer to go for diplomatic victory. But currently in Elemental, there's not much to do as a builder. You don't have to worry about happiness, health, production, economics, government, trade, religion, etc. Killing off monsters gets boring quickly, so war is the only option. Si
Wow, are we even playing the same game? I've started 3 games (with each patch release), all on Large maps, with all 7 AIs added at Ridiculous difficulty and I keep finding that I'm too far away from the AIs to make the start interesting. In the most recent game I had to build 10 cities to get close to the nearest AI. And after all that, right after I declared war it sent its sovereign with one accompanying unit into my territory to commit suicide so that empire promptly disappeared. Now
I'm wondering about this too. I hired two of them but my prestige doesn't change, even when stationed in a city.
I have this problem too and it's very annoying. Using a generic HP mouse with Windows drivers. Also using the latest ATI Catalyst display drivers, if that matters at all.
I came to ask about this too. I thought it was because I had given my character light boots during creation, but it must be because of the race. I can purchase the travelling boots, but they can't be equipped.
