This review is spot-on. I was really hoping for a true MOM successor given my experience with GalCiv2 and Sins. I know SD can crank out a high quality and fun game. I'm truly underwhelmed at the current game. So much potential lost behind a bizarre UI and unbalanced/un-fun mechanics. Not to mention the thing running so slow/jerky as if I was using a 5 year old laptop rather than my modern quad core with a GPU that draws 200 watts.

A friend and I played this game for 4 hours (2 separate campaigns) while asking each other questions and giving each other tips as we figured something out. For the life of us, there seems to be zero logic in where your units appear on the tactical map. I should be able to somehow provide a formation so that my archers are NOT standing in front of my heroes; In any other game your archers would be behind other units. What am I missing? Is there some magical click spot
