With the change to the max accessories from 3 to 4, was the Global event that modifies that setting also changed? Does it now go 4 to 5? Was the text updated? I loved it when I got that event, although it mentions something about technology which sounded kind of ridiculous (better technology means I could wear an additional ring? Give me a break!) How about we change it to be fashion-related (I think it was Heavenfall's idea). If the text hasn't been updated from

I usually lose now on Expert difficulty without making custom factions or respawing starts. Now as to whether they would win any quest/spell victory even in a million turns, i am not so
Quoting Aygis, reply 5+1 It would feel more in line with the other uses if you must spend it to generate an effect. Aka: Give 50 Influence-Point to a faction – gain +x Relation for y turns… Precisely.
That sounds super boring though. While sitting on a stockpile of influence sounds fun.

But I didnt want to change it yet because I felt like no one was laying Path of the Defender. let me know what you guys think. Do you go for better weapons and armory first, or do you go for huger squads (meaning more hitpoints and more concentrated arms power), or perhaps I want to fit more heroes and units into an army (Having 5 instead of 4 units in an army of course can mean a great deal too)? I'm not agains

How about a world setting for construction speed? I would probably play it with a lower speed than most, to enhance the feeling of trade-offs between buildings. That way, only the relative construction speed between buildings needs to be balanced and the rest is up to the tastes of the player.
Thanks for the save game, i loaded it up. You definitly dont have any tile yields anywhere. It isn't that there isn't fertile land, there is plently of it. There is a bug keeping it from giving yields. I suspect that you had some modified xml that is causing this (your tile yields aren't the same as my tile yields). XML is stored in the save file so I can definitely see the
Quoting Frogboy, reply 76Hmm. My understanding is that the 3 turn requirement isn't in Beta 5. It was still in the Beta 4 series because we had just transitioned from the population model. But in Beta 5, I think the only limit is that you can only build 1 unit/building per turn No offense intended, Frogboy, but may want to make sure of that. You see, if there is no turn limit, there is no possibility to get money back, bec
Ok, taking Frogboy's advice into consideration, I have revamped the Quest Wizard and made it easier for the novice to jump in and make a quest. I have also completed the steps, so you should be able to walk through and make a complete quest. I am releasing version .103 for people to try, but it needs a lot of testing. I will up the version to .2 when I feel it is stable enough to merit it. However, you should be able t

Seconded. I am loving Beta 0.952. On the one hand, I think you guys have created the best game of the genre, and an instant classic among turn based strategy games. As a player of classic MOM, FE is VASTLY better already, and continues to improve. On the other hand, please keep the bug fixes, new features, balance improvements, and ai improvements coming! I don't think it's possible to make *too good* a game. Unless it is like that joke, where the german army comes up
Quoting GFireflyE, reply 24 Well, to be honest, I strongly disagree. The problem with most 4X games is that the factions have very little to distinguish them. The bland, boring world of "this faction gets +10% production, that faction gets +10% research" is exactly what FE is (rightfully) trying to avoid. The proper way to differentiate factions is to give them completely unique abilities, which is what FE

I hate this idea. I like the random element, and I hate arbitrary caps like this. If your character has such crappy dodge, why would I stop mauling you after 4 hits!? I could see a cumulative penalty to accuracy (is this already there). Maybe just needs a little more tweaking.

On .86 I was playing tiny maps with 32 players, so this sounds awesome to me. It's fun because there is only room for ~10 cities total, the other 22 sovereigns are "free agents" who you have to hunt down and kill. It would be sweet if they were all leveled and geared up. Now is the time of the quickening...

I thought the way that feature worked is that it flagged the unit so that when, through technology, you gain a better armor/weapon that the design will automatically be updated. I.e. before tech upgrade you have regular spear trainable units in your capital city. After gaining "robo-spear" technology, you can now automagically train the "robo-spear" version of this unit. I always use it but I usually just kick butt with champions anyways...
