The sad thing is I've thought that original Elemental will bring me all kinds of fun and now I don't really wait Fallen Enchantress to give me any new expirience. But if it will I'll rape everyone's mind to buy this game.

I hope FE will be something complete and enjoyable. I'm trying to love WoM. I patch it to latest version, start game, have war declared of me, see enemy sovereign coming to my land with couple of weaklings. He's dead. He's passed on! This king is no more! He has ceased to be! He's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! He's a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! His metabolic processes are now history! He's off the twig! He's kicked the bucket,
I'm playing through the HoMM V campaigns with maxed graphics (I think, the options are a bit strange) on 1920x1080 and I don't see this fog you're talking about.
Camera set to Classic HoMM, zoom out. Hordes of the East 3.1. I see it everywhere except cities and combat.

I'll tell you a story about Heroes 5. A good game. It has a problem which I believe is not a problem at all, but it freaks me out. It always has fog in upper part of screen if you don't zoom. If you play on 16:9 screen 1/3 of screen is fogged. Very frustrating. So guys, be cautious. And add option to turn off fog altogether.

>Can anybody think of good examples from history or literature where a country is made up of a small number of very specialised cities? USA, USSR had many cities but they were specialized. And even if no, one of the best games I played in several years waas Puzzle Quest were battle is represented by moving diamonds in a table.

Why do you spend time on War of Magic still? Don't you want to make absolutely perfectest game with Fallen Enchantres? I'd rather wait for couple of month more and get OMG TEH BEST GAEM EVA then get slightly better War of Magic... Which I hadn't played since 1.1.

To be honest I've expected more from Elemental. Even with 1.1 patch I've played only two games. Not so challenging, not so engaging, I've completed master quest exploiting AI's tactical dumbness - felt like cheating. Other games were buggy too, but... So, list of strategies: God Tier - Victoria 2 & Europa Universalis 3: Divine Wind They were buggy and disbalanced but they've eaten and chewed me. Very very good. Nice tier - Company of Heroes (I'

It's strange we can't adjust performance much. F.e. make people in cities and animation disappear, make all armies look like a single unit etc.

Well, I just didn't like byuing lots of stuff while keeping in mind each hero epuipment. The system you're talking about would look better with some sort of skill/perk system like "hero gets 20% armor bonus when wields light armor" or "+0.5 to attack for each fire item equipped".

Easy way to lessen micromanagement on heroes: If a hero is significant enough (you've put some spells on him and his level is higher than other heroes) he can sometimes tell you "I see that my equipment is old and with mere 785 g I can buy [...], [...] and [...] that will give me +5 attack and +3 defence comparing to current equipment".

As far as I see portraits aren't that good. When they full-sized you can see pixels and stuff. I understand they eat much memory, but! You can just antialias them with some simple filtering on creation. It won't be noriceable to player but portraits will be much nicer.

Resource suggestion: Right now you don't have crystals or metal nearby = you can't create good units. You can by those resources from other factions but really, should they help you build up military? I suggest making possible to recruit units even if you don't have resources but for MUCH gold, like 1 metal = 30 gold. Ideally make some market system were the more you use resource the more gold you pay so you are still capped by resource absence but can have some

Edwin99, you ask for too dramatic changes that hard to manage and balance. Another suggestion: let heroes ask sovereign for equipment. Something like "My current equipment doesn't much my status and we are happening to be near merchant AND I see you've got some spare money. If you give me 350 gold I can get myself short sword, cuirass, leggings and helm and will boost attack by 5 and defence by 3". That sort of things would let manage hordes of heroes easier.

Some suggestion: Heroes should have means to levelup in nonviolent ways. Those guys who give cities some bonuses - you just leave them there and they are useless in city defence even if you bother to equip them. I suggest make cities generate expirience for stationed heroes based on research output. We save knowledges - so let heroes come and read a book that makes them more beautiful ;) Exploitable, you say, but XP gain can be very slow and capped by city level (f.e. max train level

Calm down, guys. I'm sure Stardock will add "I want to play on totally random and unbalanced map. And my mom is stupid and fat" option in no time. However, it would be perfect to get "Totally random games" (with only basic pattern so that players wouldn't start near each other and get fair amount of resurces nearby. Something like Heroes, Civilization, GalCiv), "Semi-random map" (generated from existing map with random resources - and MAYBE Stardock can add some minor randomness to terrain) a

Better than Age of Wonders? I don't think most people would consider it as a big compliment. Tell me it's better than GalCiv 2 :)

Easily modifiable AI => long thinking AI => less thinking AI. There's no way to make AI smart, modifiable and fast. Check Civilization 4 - modifiable and fast. GalCiv - smart and fast.
