But if you know the product URL it's still valid and the file can still be downloaded. Only "if". If you don't tell anyone we won't either so they are 'gone'.... Dumping from site DB takes time...
The URLs are still in Google. But before I switched jobs into Motion Graphics design I was a web programmer, so I know exactly of what you speak. In case any others (Brian :)) are reading this, he's corr

Wow, you guys are real generous. :) But once my stuff is no longer accessible, I'm happy and he's your problem. Given he's a top contributor I can see where you'd want to try and give him some slack. I imagine losing that many files would be a serious blow to your site. However, whether or not he believes it was okay for him to use my property, he represented to YOU that the works were entirely his. If he's not a thief, then he's certainly a liar. Unless

Alright, I found a bug... When I use your search engine to locate one of my items, it does not show up. Great! When I browse the offenders profile, it no longer shows up. Woohoo! When I go to the direct link I saved in my bookmarks, it's still there and can still be downloaded. And when I search Google for that particular file, I find the direct link which takes me right to the supposedly deleted file and lets me download it. The same goes for all of my

Some of my items are still in his account, but I'll wait another hour before I email Spencer about them. I am curious as to what the threshold is for removing an account. There are at least another 40+ products with footage from other artists still in his account (stuff that I recognize and found the originals on Pond5, ShutterStock and or Istock). I've emailed all of the artists whose stuff I recognize, so I'm sure you'll wait until they contact you directly.

Um, since when do I relinquish my rights whether or not my property is being sold? By giving away my property he is interfering with my business and by accepting money for better access WinCustomize is profiting on the distribution of my property. Also, this is from YOUR OWN Upload Guidelines: Ripping/Art Theft Also to be referred to as copyright theft. No uploads containing in part or in totality another artist's work will be accepted without a written a

I emailed you directly with some links. I can build a comprehensive links of all products, if that's necessary (or are you just going to disable the guy's account?). I included links to my portfolio on the primary site where I sell my works. Also, might I suggest that you add an option to your web site for direct reporting to make the process less confusing? Perhaps that would prevent similar occurrences in the future.
weird thread, where's the other post? anyway, looking at profiles, dnavarrojr, radek_pl and EternalSpline all created memberships within 24 hours of each other and here they are, seemingly in collusion, making similar noises. hmmm..........?
We all found out about the theft of our copyrighted material yesterday from a member here who posted the information on an artist related web site. So, here we all are

Thanks Neil. I'm pretty sure Brian doesn't realize that the people he's conversing through on the forum are not actually from WC or Stardock, although they might claim to be. FWIW, there is not a clearly defined procedure on the WC web site for reporting copyright violations. Many sites provide a "report this" link on each item's page. I ended up sending my list to the general contact email for the site, which I hope is correct.

Brian, having gone through this before with other sites, I am waiting a full business day before I escalate this. I have reported the incident to all of the sites where I sell my work. I have reported it to the Business Software Alliance (BSA) through their "report piracy" online form. I have also reported copyright violations to Blizzard, Paramount Pictures and other agencies whose copyrights are being sold here. It's already been posted on the web forums of many arti
i know that they are distributed for free but when i register here i saw an option to sign up to better account with price about 19$ i think that give user unlimited acces to files that are here on the site so the owners of this site earn money when people with this better accounts download this clips
Hmm... I didn't realize that... That changes things quite a bit since WC is profiting from stolen materi

Radek, the files are distributed for free. However, according to information on the Piracy Resource Center web site, the offender and the distributor (this web site) are still liable for damages. I've screen capped all of my stolen items along with the download counts in case I need to make a claim for damages. I suggest you do the same with your items. If WC is quick and removes my items and the offending user's account, then I'm willing to let it go. We'll see

I'm sorry, but simply taking a video file and placing it into another container is still a copyright violation. Not to mention that the sites on which I sell my animations specifically prohibit selling (or otherwise distributing) derivative works in the license agreed to by the buyer. They can only be used as part of a much larger project such as a television commercial, television show, movie, webmercial, etc... The person who is currently distributing my works as his/her o

At least it was caught on this site. Who knows how many other sites are out there we don't know about yet... It's a little depressing to think about. Thank goodness creating new works is therapeutic. :)

Unfortunately, I had to go through the trouble of getting my material removed from YouTube earlier this year and they took almost a full 24 hours... so that's pretty reasonable. Although it's very frustrating to know they are still there being downloaded. In the meantime, I know the authors of a few dozen other clips in the offenders portfolio and I have contacted them about it. For good measure, I screen-shot his entire portfolio in case it's needed for any legal stuff.

I found a half dozen of my stolen clips here as well in the same account. I have sent the info to WC. Every other legitimate agency I have contacted about stolen works has removed them within 24 hours, so we'll see what happens. How quickly they act will determine my next step. I am a motion graphics artist for a living. It pays my bills. It puts food in the mouths of my children. So this isn't just a matter of pride for me (or many others like me), i
