I love it when people talk about how they played the demo and then proceed to break everything down like they've been playing the game for months. Saying things like "So Civilization V goes like this-" after having played the demo for awhile is pretty silly.

People get so turned off my the initial rushing and blocking rushes in multiplayer. Its only the first stage of the match. Once you have your opening strategy down you can take people to the mid/late game where the real strategy gets going and you have more options with which to act and counteract. The matchmaking system seems to help keep games relatively fair so you're not constantly running over noobs or getting destroyed by vets. No its not nearly as complex as alot of the games d
Ok so I know we're all a bunch of hardcore, holier than thou art 4x strategy gamers who prefer "actual" strategy over mindless rushing and blowing stuff up but is anyone else loving this game as much as i am right now? Its really bringing me back to my days with Warcraft II and the original Starcraft. Just a classic style of gameplay that I remember and love so much.
I usually play with the grid off but I find myself turning it on more often in Civ 5 when the map gets crowded during a battle. Once I'm used to hexes I probably wont use it much. Don't really need it but it helps sometimes.
DOS Box is awesome.
This whole thread is comical.
Judging by some of the things I'm reading on various forums, Elemental actually isn't too far off from Civ 5 in terms of polish and completeness. Lots of stability, performance, and balance issues being reported as well as complaints about the game being overly simplified and inferior to its predecessors, particularly Civ 4 which is starting to look like the pinnacle of the series. I honestly think the biggest problem with E
Been playing for a few hours now myself. Its awesome. Much more tactical than any Civ to date and I think the interface is much improved over Civ IV. Much cleaner and organized.
Yeah, this is too expensive for me too considering the soundtrack is in the deluxe Steam edition for dramatically less money. Artbooks and figurines arne't worth this premium.

If I wanted minatures, I would play Warhammer 40K on a table. GTFO collectors. Just gimmie dat game.
The 5 miniatures, book, DVD and audio CD are well worth $50.00 to anyone who is interested
This game is incredibly easy right now, i have no idea what you're talking about.
If winning took more effort I might also care about this.
Wow, I've never had crash problems that bad even at release.
Rome wasn't built in a day.
There's too many ideas, too many suggestions, too many different directions to take and too many tastes to please. THAT is what's wrong with this game. The devs should shut this forum down and go to work on a game that THEY envisioned and stop putting so much stock in all these suggestions from nerds who think they own part of Stardock because beta and forum participation. Take some advice here and there, let us help test bugs, hear us out when its coherent, thats fine. But a lot of what I re
So 1.08b also has the hotfix that came out tonight?
2 hours to capture an enemy city? What game are you playing? ;)
Ummmmmm, relax?
Get on Ebay and buy a brand new copy for $25
Listening to people talk about how they'd rather play Elemental than Civ V crack me up.
We shouldn't have to make ourselves dumber in order to make the game harder.
Lots of things are stealing. The world isn't a perfect place now is it? Signed, a thief.
Man, do you anti piracy people think you're warriors of the light or something? Get over yourselves. "Socially acceptable"? pfffffffffft
lol
I don't know which is sadder. The fact that spam like that exists, or the fact that it works.
im thinking of buying this game so should i
LOL
