All Refined techs stack and can be researched infinitely. The UI should explain this to keep players from getting confused.

I think for the golem is just means you can customize their equipment when you design them, not that you can swap them after creation.
Yes, the intention was for Henchmen to perma-die, so if they are not it is definitely a bug.
Any (friend or enemy) unit next to the unit attacked by the splash damage unit (except the splash damage unit itself) takes damage. That's how it's intended. However, the extremely high splash damage currently is probably not.
Or you can choose Master Scouts for your Civ and monsters will never attack you, except in Wildlands. ;-)
You know one of the best creatures to tame with Beastmaster Sov Perk? Hoarder Spiders! I copped two big hits from the spider (I started Tame before the first hit) and was reduced to 1 or 2 hitpoints, then my Tame was ready and I was successful! (Note the first time I fought it I got defeated, but the Hoarder Spider's attack killed all its little buddies, so the next time I took it on there were no other spiders.) It has one of the best specials in the game (Daze -
This might be related to the Sculla's Mace and also maybe the Shrink spell too. Sculla's Mace almost always makes attack a huge negative number when you attack a unit.
There is a magic tech that grants dispel enchantment, so you need to cast that once for each negative spell. However in one game, Gilden cast Frozen Bones four or five times on my only city, and then another player attacked me and they were getting three turns for every one of mine. Ouch. ;-)
Well tetleytea, that is an interesting perspective. Thanks. =) What would you say if there are two equally skilled workers, one is local, one isn't? That's the only caveat I'd have with no discrimination.
Already have. =)
And the great thing is, a Pilbara Iron Ore mine owned by Gina Rineheart has got permission from the federal government to bring in the entire workforce from overseas, without even trying to get local workers first. It's one thing to oppose the mining tax, it's another to be able to not even bother to try to employ workers that, you know, actually live in the place the resources are coming from?
Well for me, it is 12.11 in the morning right now. Normal release time is about 3 or 4 am my time.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the -1 point sovereigns. ;-)
If there's no chance, you might want to tell us so we don't stay up all night.
Often if you quit and restart the executable it comes back. Maybe it happens when your Sov gets defeated and if you quit then, all the enemy sovs in your next game start with Path of the Warrior. But restarting the game seems to fix the Path and headless Sov problems.
Well, the fact is that FE has so many things to keep track of in memory (custom units, custom image on map etc). I'm pretty sure larger than the current Large maps would not be feasible in 32-bit, definitely not in mid to late game with large to very large number of different units on the map.
Satrhan, just because it will be in the next patch doesn't mean that it is the final way of dealing with blitzkreig. Things have been, and are, subject to change during the FE beta process.
It might have been a bug, as part of monsters only seeing player LoS. We'll see how it goes with the improvements in the next patch (where AI LoS is used by monsters as well as they use human's LoS).
Maybe the "near future" could be 10-20 turns or something. =)
I am interested in your idea.
Does this mean that the Quest that gives you a Restoration Potion or a Butcherman will be back? There was someone else who thought that the Potion only appears as goodie hut loot now and that the quest that let you get a Butcherman had gone in a between patch update. I just want to say, it may be worth choosing the Butcherman option now if that Quest is still going to exist! =)
That's why it might be a good idea for monsters not to get a go on the first turn, so everyone can put down their cities. =)
Yes, sometimes your Sovereign and starting hero can go on epic journeys, just avoiding monsters and visiting goodie huts. You can often get some quite good loot that way. Especially prized early on are Merchant's Guild crates or Free Rider caches. And a great early pick up is the Chain Mail Shirt, which provides great early defense, and best of all has no Level requirement, and the Fending Blade, which increases initiative and gives you two counterattacks, mean
I like the kind of ideas that are being expressed in this thread. =)
I agree with monsters seeing the whole map, but having a preference for attacking units near to them (ie. in their area). Is there a memory reason why this isn't possible?
