I really loved Warcraft 3 but have the same complaint - it's largely about reflexes. Units, other than the heroes, are mostly ephemera that die quickly. Starcraft 2 is a great game but is essentially the same iteration of the past 15 years. The real problem overarching all is that fact that the elites that run this circus don't seem to suffer for the welfare of the masses. I am in the middle with this. I agree that it is not neccessary to use vulgar language to convey ideas. My girlfriend tells me all the time what a vulgar neanderthal I am when I get nonhappy. She is correct. It takes more thought to use creative adjectives rather than slang. I am both amazed and yet at the same time not surprised by this awesomeness! I had from the start thought this game was going to become amazing! Yeah when I showed my girlfriend the game, she did not like the way female warriors looked either. I want sexy Amazons and mages! I make my ladies archers so they can keep their pretty colorful clothes! Someone before said something to the effect that is was not realistic to have feminine armor. I agree with you but give 'em time they have finally got the game stable and it rocks! I have high hopes for this one and it might take a year or two but it will be amazing!

I have been playing a game for 9 hours over the last week on 1.09s and it was very nice, other than some slow down on tactical battles, which had grown large. The game is evolving rapidly and I have a 4 year old system running it. Same 4 year old install of Vista, by the way. I had problems earlier that were my own fault requiring me to turn off some things that didn't need to be running and now it runs very nicely! You guys are really getting there and I would recommend this game to all strategy, RPG, turn base game fans. In the state that it is in now.

I was stable on the last version and now it runs terribly slow and freezes up.

There is no update on the lower right of my screen as you say. I am running 1.09n - the beta. I unhighlighted "show pre-release" versions. It asks me to update from the start. I get nowhere no matter what I do.

The list?

I have tried a dozen times. I don't know why you have to be good at computers to do this. Its asks for an update and the time dial spins a few times and then nothing happens.

How do you update this? When I load the game is says update, takes me to impulse. THEN what?
