I'm also worried that they're phrasing it simply as "late game" slowdown. It's slowdown from the second you build a city.
seems too slow right away to me, although building a city/later game makes it even worse.

i agree with everyone, and i'm almost never mad about these sort of things when I should be. I usually find some excuse/reason to just deal with it when i'm a little unhappy about a purchase. but with this, i'm ready for a refund and looking to spend the money anywhere that isn't stardock. playing something this bad almost ruins the chance of enjoying a fixed version, and the game did seem like it really would've been great.
I hope so, performance doesn't seem too bad right now (despite my frustrations I cant put this game down like I thought I would), so I don't know if its 1.06 helping, or just because I'm still early in a new sandbox game. still choppy though.
i think I might be done with this game if there's no fix..that would be a shame. i've just never seen anything like this, and something that was supposed to work well for even low end systems, nonetheless. cruel, cruel irony.
this really is horrible, a great game completely ruined, i'd want to "hit the refund button" too, if something like this wasn't fixed. Here are my specs: AMD Phenom II x4 945 @ 3.0 Ghz Win7 64 bit 2 gb ram Gigabyte Nvida GeForce GTX 460 256-bit 1GB DDR5 maybe this can help some, I just put that graphics card in today, before that I had just an ATI Radeon 4670, and performance seems exactly the same on both. I wouldn't want to play on the
great work, there's a lot to fix and I'm still have a lot of fun with this game, but the performance is KILLING me. i had an ATI Radeon 4670, just put my brand new GeForce GTX 460 today...and absolutely no difference in performance. It really does seem like the game is not using my graphics card at all, like some people are saying (i dont know how to tell) but its not even 100% quick on the cloth map.
anyone figured out if we can fight our own created sovereigns yet, maybe a way to remove the default sovereigns from the game? I think it would be cool if there was a simple way to play the sandbox game with only our own created factions and sovereigns involved.
I am not sure about your first question but I can answer the other two.
oh, i hope someone can give us more info on that..
Empire is disabled in the faction creator at the moment because there was some wackiness with their tech trees. Stardock will have it fixed soon I'm sure.
great, thanks, I was thinking it was something like that, which means it will be fixed soon enough. Does this mean problems just playing any factions that are
a few questions: first, its simple to use custom factions, just create and choose them as your opponents, but what about sovereigns? Does the game just randomly assign one to whatever faction(s) oppose you? If so, would there be a simple way to remove the default sovereigns so the game is forced to use all of your own creations? But if this requires something more involved, because the default sovereigns have specialized AI, are linked to certain factions, etc. then I can just leave e
a couple people asked already about continuing a saved game, can you do this? my guess is may be problems there and we just have to start a new one after the update, right?
I'm just gonna give it time for the Day 0 and more patching, I discovered nothing can pull me away from UFO: Afterlight right now, been playing for a week or so and started fresh with a mod after the main game gets broken from impossible difficulty.
Isnt this supposed to be out today?
why aren't there more posts about this? still version 1.01, that would mean PRE-day 0, right? when is the release version coming?
I played the beta somewhat, but, I'll be waiting for the day 0 release to give the game a whirl.
on that subject, when are we expecting the Day 0 update on Impulse? I kinda wanna wait until then to play again, see what kind of improvement in performance is given. My version still says 1.01 so I guess this is the "pre-day 0" or whatever you want to call it. will the day 0 have better sup
somebody said something about still being able to create factions, just look in the mods section. is there a downloadable faction create tool or something, I can't find this anywhere?
am I the only one who isn't impressed by the performance? I just expected gameplay to be 100% smooth for me, I have windows7 64-bit, amd phenom II x4 945 @3.0 GHz, Radeon 4670. I dont want to be too negative, although I have a lot of things going on, tired from my work schedule, etc. so I'm not in the best state for playing this type of game, it looks amazing otherwise. It may be just because we don't have the 'day 0' version for tommorow, or my video card is too weak (if thats the ca

oh, thats cool, i got the idea from other people that if you bought it way back when, even though Beta is disabled, it still should show up in your "My Games" list. just you wouldn't be able to do anything with it until actual release.
Save the sleeping for the job imo.
yeah, very true, but in my case 1 or 2 hours sleep before work is a pretty common thing. sometimes I think I border on insomnia, lol, but I make up for it with naps during the day or long sleep-ins on days off.
i pre-ordered about a month ago, was already charged the 49.95, then I switched to a new computer a week or two ago. Shows no proof of my purchasing it now, unlike the old computer where i had the beta installed. I get the frustrating feeling Im going to have to wait until tuesday to get it straightened out as well.
Quoting DrGuppie, reply 42 Don't read too much into the video performance - I seem to recall that whatever tool (FRAPS?) they're using is frame rate limited and ends up looking choppy. I've had battles in Beta 4 with those numbers of units and it's been fine (Core 2 Duo @ 3Ghz). I suppose there could be more eye candy in the final that has an impact on frame rates, but my guess is that it's the capture tool. I've got a similar C
