I wonder how the magic system is curently supposed to work ? perhaps resistance isnt woeking like it should and late game damage spells are doing more damage than intended. Is there an info page we can look at with the calculations and explanation of the way the magic system is set up. I am use to games like AoW and HoMM where there is reserch/skill/purchace that limits the way your magic is used. I was surprised that very little reserch is needed to cast high level spells.

What if a hero could only hit 1 member of a stack until he built up some skill or weapon that allows him to hit multiple. this would make building troops more important as they would be able to hit multiples in a stack since THEY Have multiple in their stack. Ive noticed most npc only stack up 3 mabey 4 for wolves so mabey a pasive skill say FOLLOWTHROUGH I , II , III . Untill you build up that skill your hero would be less eficient mowing down the rifraf. OR ma
i rarely play one of the preset factions so i dont know what they have , but i usualy spend 2 points on my faction for gear tech and with that u can make a cool spear man in 5-6 turns aswell as purchase some nice gear off the bat that even a spell specialized faction/lord can roam early. but with the newest patch im crashing so not getting to far in although the patch before that i played 2 games to the end
I could be wrong on this but I think some company still owns the rights on MOM and if elemental looks to much like MOM then well!?!
u might try in the impulse prg theres a preference menu (top left tab). and in the a togle for show pre release version. i had to togle it as it wasnt set to show on impulse install.

Combat suggestions SPELLS . Dumping my lords mana pool on the 1st turn, casting 3-4 spells seems a little overpowered - Limit 1 spell per game turn (per unit) . Like MOM of old , casting and moving has more strategy. Although the combat would take longer - Or Spells have a movement/action point component, ie Casting Blizard takes up 2-3 points whereas haste only .5 – 1 point. ARCHERS . A large group of archers is doing a ton of damage
move onto hut and menu displays "do you want to attack spiders"..
