Aren't we talking like a 5 bucks difference here or something similar? LH is a great game, regardless of whether it's an ex

Well bully for you Barrynor. The fact that you got your expansions for free suggests that Stardock USED to care about their customers, but I have a feeling they regret that promise and have changed their tune now, since those of us who bought FE from them during beta are now getting rather shafted. The fact that I thought Stardock did repay customer loyalty makes it even more disappointing that they are not prepared to offer those direct customers (and early adopters of FE) the

Very good you lot - gold stars all round. I'm pissed because Stardock are pimping themselves out to Steam while ignoring their own direct customers. If you bought FE through Steam you get a 50% better discount (in the UK anyway) on LH than if you bought it from Stardock direct, and now they fall over themselves to give them these cards too.
Quoting Woffle99, reply 18 I bought FE early when it was in beta, direct from Stardock thinking I was supporting the game and the developers. Now I find that, thanks to my early support and all my money going to Stardock (rather than Steam getting their 30%) if I want to buy FH I would have to pay $19.99 whereas those who bought later and through Steam can now get it for $9.99. What a great way to repay

Quoting Island Dog, reply 12Do you have FE on Steam? No, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, I have the FE version that came directly from Stardock. Does that mean I can't get the discount?
<p

A number of people, myself included, have posted asking what the future is for FE now that LH is on it's way and not had much of a reply until now, and, lets face it, 1.4 is hardly a massive patch and we have no info at all as to what 1.5 is likely to include but I'm betting it's not much other than the odd bug fix. "Live with it" What does that even mean? Of course I'm "living with it"- it's not as if the fact that I'm not getting LH for free is making me lean towards suicide. What you really mean is 'Don't complain', to which I say "Live with it" (or rather, don't complain about me complaining). Just because I bought something voluntarily, that doesn't mean I don't have the right to express a negative opinion about it if I want. I don't expe

Thanks for the link. Not exactly the biggest change log and only a single AI tweak with a few bugfixes. It would seem to strengthen the view that Fallen Enchantress has come to the end of it's road. I'd still like someone from Stardock (Derek, Brad?) to tell us exactly what's what though please...........

I've seen a few people asking this in posts on other topics but I haven't seen a reply from anyone at Stardock yet (as far as I am aware). Now we have Legendary Heroes around the corner, what are Stardock's plans for Fallen Enchantress? Is 1.31 the last patch for it or can we expect any more? If so, are those patches only going to be bugfixes rather than either adding new stuff (whether from LH, like maybe the movement turn indicator) or refining or tweaking systems,

Thanks Abob - sound advice (and yes I did mean "buy" :)). I guess I will read a few more opinions, check some of the reviews and then decide whether to buy at full price or if I can wait for a sale. Fairly sure I will buy at some point though, given what you say about it.

Thanks Abob, it's nice to get a bit more detail and a decent opinion on the changes to tactical battles. The blurb they are using to sell LH really is rather poor - very little detail other than 'better battles', 'more spells', 'more monsters' and 'champion upgrade paths'. Quick question though - did you but it or did you get it free? I know Stardock are honour bound to give FE and now LH to original EWOM buyers, but I can't help but think that

My question is the same as the OP's - "Why the hell should I buy Legendary Heroes?" - but coming from a different angle. I have no objection to expansion packs, dlc, etc as long as they add enough value to the game to be worth it (though obviously I'd prefer these things for free [e digicons][/e] ) but is LH really worth $20 to me, given that it's half the price of the original game? So - why should I buy it? I've really not seen that much about what it adds apa
Quoting Spitz, reply 99I'd like to agree with the above posters that, although I like Stardock and I like FE, a map pack is not the sort of DLC I'd buy. Think more along the lines of new scenarios or campaigns. New monsters, new spells, new sovereigns, new races would also be great. Map packs don't require as many resources to create. You can use its sales to judge the general interest in DLC.
Might as well add my voice to the chorus. I won't be buying just a map pack - I didn't buy EWOM and bought FE at full price so maybe I don't have quite the same sense of gratitude that will prompt others to buy DLC just to support Stardock (though I do admire your giving the game away to EWOM customers). I am enjoying the single scenario so I would probably buy more DLC scenarios if they were the right price. I'd also potentially buy more content that would slip into t

A review on one of the big sites (IMO anyway). Not a resounding endorsement, but not overly critical either - I can mostly see where he's coming from. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/10/29/wot-i-think-elemental-fallen-enchantress/

I lurk far too much and hardly post, but I felt I had to add my name to the list asking for a bit more to be added to the tactical battles. As others have said, I don't think it needs much. I've played a fair amount of Age Of Wonders:SM and I reckon FE could do a lot worse than take a few lessons from it's tactical battles, particularly it's use of terrain and buildings and the defensive or offensive benefits those can convey. Even at this late stage, I'm not sure
Imho, what GFireflyE is saying is that if there are mods at release, that means the game is flawed. This is obviously extremely faulty logic, and I seriously doubt any reviewer sees it like that. I have certainly never seen a reviewer say anything to that effect.
I agree. Having mods close to release does not mean a flawed game. Needing mods close to release does though (even if the mods can eventually sort it out) which is why h

I don't think I said anywhere that modders were driven to mod just to fix bad games. There all kinds of people who mod, some to add content to good games (CIV4), some to fix minor problems with otherwise good games (Dark Souls) and some to fix major problems to turn potentially good, but currently bad or unplayable games around (Vampire: The Masquerade) and I'm sure there are other motivations besides. I'm not going to dig out links to specific reviews but there have been
Moving back to modding, there are a few things I would like to say as I fall into the category of "I don't want to try mods, vanilla should be perfect in every way for everyone". Well....almost fall into that category... Vanilla should not require mods in order for it to be 'perfect'. All customers should have the right to expect that the product being released is in fact sufficent without requiring modificaiton.<br /
