Dragons begin to shine a lot more on higher difficulties, because your troops won't be as able to easily steamrolling the enemy as before. Dragons on the other hand, with their armor negating fireball skill essentially destroys most of their army in first turn of combat. Regardless of difficulty.
I don't think I'll be "Steamrolling" expert AI, much less insane AI difficulty, anytime soon. In one of my ea

As a Dragon enthusiast, when I think of Dragons, I imagine a creature with very few equals in combat. These things are a mass of magic and physical might far beyond many creatures, they are ancient. I can see a King/Queen's powerful army and a dragon slayer waging war with a Dragon. The army will lose many troops, but given enough perseverance and skill, the dragon's contenders will win. The way the devs have made dragons in this game correlate extremely well with my views
As awesome as all the development info is, I am quite saddened that we will be required to have Steam installed to play this... I've been avoiding Steam as much as possible and this is not helping. That's basically akin telling us that we will be required to have a constant internet connection. You can set the game to play in offline mode for only so long before you're required to re-connect and verify ownership of the software. This is only one of the issues that I have with Stea
Wow, nice compilation. I especially like the feedback about catapults [e digicons]^_^[/e] , mostly because I haven't created any yet. (Gave me a funny visualization) Though the suggestion on summoning seems REALLY restrictive.... I like being able to take my created Sovereign and conjure up creatures when I need them and where I need them, while having the different crystals as an added effect of power to the given summoning spell at the present time.
lol Oh my goodness. Poor channeler [e digicons]:omg:[/e] . Awesome set of posts since the 25th that I've gotten to read none the less. Best wishes for the trip. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Looking forward to visiting the chat [e digicons]^_^[/e] I'm pretty sure a lot of my questions will be answered when others, like Raven X, ask them.
Such an awesome story [e digicons]\o/[/e]
I had fly past the youtube video image of the unboxing [e digicons][/e] I just wanna say, thank you for the limited edition. Must keep myself busy!
I just got done with school work and read all journal entries from the 14th to today. So much great stuff to read through. Awesomeness is an understatement for all the progress.[e digicons]^_^[/e] Cheers!
Such awesome information [e digicons]^_^[/e] fun read-through, bullet point gripes included!
woweee :o that was a good read! cheers!
Nice and descriptive post [e digicons]^_^[/e] . I figured someone would mod some of the game to fit this type of gameplay, but now that you've managed to type up this really nice post, I'd just like to say that I agree with the general idea. I figured the land around the town is made healthy enough to farm on, in multiple places, after the sovereign had used the ability to raise up a town, multiple times through magic, before the restriction was set to only the first kingdom/empire. I just wanted to say, thanks for introducing me to fall from heaven 2 [e digicons]^_^[/e] and might I suggest a game that's currently being worked on right now called "Achron": A meta-time strategy game.
Unless it happens suddenly and without warning within the next maybe 50 years, the end of the world will not be the end of humanity. I suspect once we start colonizing other planets it will be impossible to wipe us out. I wouldn't mind watching the Earth destroyed on "TV" (or whatever it's called then) from another planet or star system though. I mean if it was going to happen anyway I'd like to witness it. It would prob
Weee, corporate government [e digicons]|-O[/e] (sarcasm). To think that I've actually paid for so many things and will probably not live to see the end of this end user hassel. Reminds me of how ea is starting require a constant internet connection for their published video games, regardless of whether it's single player or multi-player. Edit: I refuse to buy and/or play that latest settlers because of this hassle >_ Thanks for posting, Blaze
Spell Name: Animate Skeleton Is it Strategic or Tactical?: Strategic Arcane Knowledge required to acquire: Not sure on the exact levels, but I think somewhere in between imps and Familiars Mana required to cast: 6 Does it require any shards to be controlled?: No (I'd consider skeletons, assuming they're just basic bones with swords or something, to be relatively fightable by most fighters and only dangerous in large numbers Spell Effe
Have a cop-out answer: I like scaling for gameplay. I want to remove scaling for screenshots of awesome. So make sure that checkbox stays on that menu!
Yay for check boxes. I agree [e digicons]^_^[/e]
This is so awesome [e digicons][/e] . I love reading these things when I get the chance to. So happy that all this stuff has progressed. Definitely looking forward to messing with tactical battles in the late game. Kind of sad though that the sovereign will be restricted to only being able to found the first city. Either ways, though, this is awesome [e digicons]^_^[/e] edit:
Eventually I'd like to see Champio
Really nice info to read, [e digicons]^_^[/e] . I like the editor functions that have been shown so far.
I like the town [e digicons][/e]
[e digicons]^_^[/e] Yay, thank you for the beta walk-through.
Yay, Darwinia reference and a really cool looking map [e digicons]^_^[/e] I'm kind of speechless with all the little details of this game. Looking forward to what shows up in the future.
WINNER. TAKE. ALL. This is the part where we want to hear your opinions. We do ask that you keep an open mind on what we ultimately go with. My opinion is that the attacking player has the onus to finish the battle in N turns. After N turns, the attacker morale starts to go lower and lower at which point the defender can come out and make mince meat out of them. The question is, what should determine what N is? Or should we allow retreating? Should we
Yay for new info and I'd just like to add a small camp that I fall into, which is the Dominions camp. This game as well as dominions 3 as of late, fall into my game play style of choice. The two games, Elemental: War of Magic and Dominions 3 seem to emanate, to me at least, the very core game play mechanics that give life to so many turn based strategy games. This totally doesn't discount the Galactic Civ games and Sins of the Solar Empire for me either. Cheers again for the new stuff
Yay, updates. Looking forward to testing Elemental's 1Z4 build on this 32-bit windows xp machine [e digicons]^_^[/e]
