Also, loving the new implementation of the population mechanic so far. I'll give this game a good run-through, if you can just fix this annoying issue, please.

The talent that gives you 1 point towards arcane knowledge every turn gets cut off in its description. Kind of annoying.
I'd love to give you all more feedback on the state of 1.09o, but I can't play it for more than 40 turns. I saw that there would be a hotfix for this issue, but when can we expect it? Also, another big step in the right direction. I'm having a LOT of fun in those 40 turns, so fix this please so I can KEEP having fun :)
I completely agree with your post. Perhaps, in order to make it even, you could require certain levels be met in other research topics before you research the more advanced stuff? Much like Civ, you'd require a couple different techs before the next step in other research trees. It would help keep things spread out. Or maybe just a complete overhaul of the structure to be more like Civ in that you research different, more specific techs, not broad subjects only to choose more specific techs. Pe
I will agree that population needs some tweaking. Instead of global population, perhaps a population by city? Also, I've never worried about population, as it doesn't seem particularly finite. What's the point of implementing this system if it doesntvreally change anything. I'm just spamming studies and arcane labs and not looking back. That also makes my cities pretty boring/ugly. Can we do someting about that, too? Maybe every 4 labs makes an uber-lab with different graphics and better stats?
What do you need from us, FrogBrad? I have a whole list of things that just went wrong with my last game, but I don't want to waste my time or inundate you all with an insane amount of stuff. What are you guys working on for 1.1? What can we help with?
My ideas on land being to uninteresting and barren: 1. Massively underused quest system. You said yourself that so much more is possible within the engine. Quests are kinda pointless as is... leveling them is pointless as they have the same rewards, and except for 1 or 2 early game ones they don't even involve combat. Either spend more time and wages on more official quests or make a quest editor so people can start pumping out the
It's a relief to read what you've posted, Frogboy. If I look at the game as a whole, I can agree with everything you've mentioned, which makes me feel very confident that this game will reach true greatness one day. I don't even consider most of those points true complaints (world isn't too boring to me and I don't know that the wilds are dying to be less tame), but if I look at those observations objectively, I can agree that the game would benefit from these issues being addressed. So, no
I guess I need to clarify what I meant by not getting the population thing. It's mostly that I just don't see a point. I never came anywhere close to having too few people to build anything and thus, didn't feel challenged at all by that mechanic. I guess I just don't get it... So, having spent more time with the game, I can say this: I forgot to mention how much I LOVE the threading going on. Turns are so damn quick and I just love it. Really h
First off, this is a serious step in the right direction. It's really starting to feel polished and it is finally fulfilling its promise. I am blown away by how much better this game continues to get. First, Global Mana was the right choice. It's nearly perfectly implemented, too. I don't have a single problem with it. The UI is significantly improved, too, from the cities to the units. A very nice upgrade. I still think it needs some help (I really dislike the "se
See title. I'm just really disappointed that we're not getting regular updates anymore. For whatever reason. I've been lurking around these forums a LOT since 1.09's release to see when I could start getting excited about this game again and it's very disappointing that the level of communication has dropped off since Kael has come on board. I expected more... Please get back in to the regular updates thing, or I'll just have to lose interest....
I've seen some people ask about this phrase and wanted to quickly shed some light on the subject. Thank you, Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guns_versus_butter_model It's basically the decision made to either spend money on food and infrastructure OR weapons (guns) and defense OR a combination of both. Perhaps this help shed some light on some of FrogBrad's posts.
I don't know what count we'd be at, but I will wholeheartedly "second" (maybe fourth or fifteenth, maybe thirtieth) this notion. I think it's kinda silly that the advertisements in my new PC Gamer show that exact screenshot. I'd be really, really disappointed if I picked this game up based on those screenshots.... Thanks, RavenX. You're quite the advocate for your fellow gamers.
After playing MOM for the past few hours to remember what it is I liked about that game and to hopefully add something to this thread, I'd like to add these couple things: 1. Please give me a prompt after things are completed at my towns. Either that, or please allow me to queue up buildings before I can actually build them. MOM lets me know when each of my buildings are complete, so I never go any turns without making progress. It feels less micromanage-y that way. 2. H
Yes, I got that same email. They basically said that the first one is lost in the mail, that if it shows up I can keep it, and that a new one is on its way. I believe that a new one is on its way, but I have a hard time believing that so many were "lost in the mail". Oh well, I just want my box :)
To all those that came here to say differently, I truly believe this IS A STARDOCK PROBLEM. I don't care if the shipping is handled by a third party. The fact of the matter is that my CONTRACT IS WITH STARDOCK and at this point, even after repeated attempts, I haven't been able to get through to the third party, so I now go back to Stardock, who my original contract is with. 3+ weeks is long enough. Those of you saying that I should wait longer, I say to you BULS IT. When a cust
Most likely Stardock. I just want my game or an actual update. I'll give it another 24 hours, but after that, I'm asking for a refund or store credit in addition to getting my game. This is just painfully ridiculous.
Oh, wow. This is pretty good! I totally agree with the Champion base hit points suggestion and well, hell, just about everything. Excellent work here. +1 karma for you!
The boxes are shipped by a third party fulfillment center in Cincinnati, not from the office. So (for those commenting about it) being in Michigan isn't very meaningful in this context. As the USPS shipments don't have tracking, I'm not sure at what point the shipments might be considered lost and be eligible for reshipment, but you'd need to discuss with sales to see if that is a possibility.
If sales would a

Also 30mins away (Walled Lake, MI). Pretty much WTF at this point. I want to be strong and zen-like, get my game and shut up til it is fixed, but this is insulting. Pretty much the only thing that can turn me off to a ga
Yes, mine was a pre-order, too. I literally bought the pre-order THE VERY DAY that it was available. Jokes on me, though. I'm so close to just calling it quits with Stardock.
+1 Karma for you! Thank you!
This will be the last time I bring this to your attention. I've contacted Stardock sales multiple times. I've posted here before. Needless to say, I don't have the Limited Edition of Elemental that I paid for within days of it being available. The game came out over three weeks ago. I was patient. Not anymore. If I don't have a response to this simple request, I will never again pre-order a Stardock game and I will most certainly not order a Limited Edition of any game Stardock
While I know that this news is devastating for some (namely those that were laid off - and perhaps a certain someone with hopes of having two games developing at once), it is truly good to hear that it won't effect your future plans for Elemental. I see a diamond there, Brad, hidden in the rough. I'm blown away by your humility and honesty and truly believe that it will prove to win back those that may have doubted. I can already see the tide turning back in to Stardock's favor.
