ELVES are going into Elemental??? When did this happen????? I distinctly remember seeing in the dev journals that there would be NO elves. In fact, here is what was said for the Elemental: July FAQ on Thursday, July 23, 2009: "We won’t be putting elves
[quote who="GW Swicord" reply="13" id="2607488"] Perhaps I am overreacting. I'm no fan of mega-publishers like Random House because I believe that on the whole they are dumbing down popular fiction in ways that would shame Charles Dickens' publishers. But I'm pretty confident that Brad et al are assertive enough that Stardock will have its way with the project(s). Take the currency name for example--RH apparently liked the made-up word "rigma," but some combination of forum heckler
Love the idea of the Hiergamenon. Can't wait for that! [e digicons][/e] I must be honest though, I am not liking the amount of influence Random House seems to have in the development of the story. To me, this means some of the story is being outsourced, ergo, some of the story will not be from the original creators' mind. This could adversely effect the original vision intended for Elemental. I am worried that lore and content will be added simply because Random
FYI. MoM was just released at Gog.com!!! h ttp://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/master_of_magic/

Have you played it? Also, it was released in 1999. Granted the sequels were released in the 2000's but that would fall under your time frame of good game. And what makes it run of the mill com
Agreed... Onto the catapult with him, launched over a swamp filled with piranha and being used as target practice by skeet shooters [e digicons]}:)[/e] Despite his shameful comments about AoW and TW, he did mention a few good ones. Alpha Centauri is great, as is the Front Mission games, Syndicate and Company of Heroes. FYI, there was only 1 Daggerfall which was the second in TES series. The first game was Arena. Daggerfall was good, but horribly, horrib
Exactly. Abandonia also lists some games that can't actually be downloaded from their website. Crusader No Remorse is an example. Yet the sequel, Crusader No Regret is available. It lists them both but No Remorse says ESA protected. So they still give you info about the game but are unable to make it available in some cases. Abandonia is a great site though. Sites like these are often taken down because of legal issues however. In fact, I think there used to be one called some

And you're not specific about new or old games so I could pretty much say anything... so I will... Turn based strategy: Age of Wonders 1+2 and Shadow Magic (if you can find them), King's Bounty (I know it was mentioned alrea
So since quite a number of people (including myself) are pissed off with 2K's upcoming 1st person rendition of X-COM, we will have to look into other alternatives to satisfy our want for turn-based tactical combat. So, recently I found out that there is an independent group of developers in the UK making their own spiritual successor to X-COM. It is called Xenonauts. It is supposed to keep the same basic elements that made up the gameplay of the X-COM series. It will also sill keep th
Yep, here is the original announcement they put out in March: "GOG.com continues to build its unmatched catalogue of classic PC games with the announcement of the deal with the famous worldwide publisher - Atari. The hit games will be added to the GOG.com catalogue throughout April and will include such glorious gems of yesteryear as Outcast, Master of Orion and Master of Magic. Today, during CD Projekt Spring Conference where the agreement with Atari was announced

Damn right! [e digicons][/e] Already bought the original Lord of the Realms some time back. The second is still my favourite. I have the 3rd as well, but it doesn't compare to the first two. Still, the third was by no means, terrible.
Since Stardock keeps mentioning how Elemental is somewhat based on Master of Magic and that they would love to do a Master of Orion game, I would thought I would mention that the Master of Orion 1 and 2 was just released on Gog.com today. In case you don't already have it. Also, Outcast was just released.
Stardock: Please make Elemental in the way you first intended. Do not be influenced by the "possibility" of making a few more sales out of possibly a few more weeks work. After all, more work means more expenditure. Shy away from the elusive $ sign that may or may NOT be real in such ideas. Esspecially, if actual, concrete data hasn't formally been put on your doorstep. The way I see it, you originally defined Elemental as a modern representation of some of your favourite clas
This seems to be turning into the bear cavalry motivational picture argument. So without further ado...
I am not sure if this has already been implemented or not, or is in planning, but I would like to see audible responses from units when they are clicked on or moved. With that in mind, it would be interesting to see the ability to assign audio files during the create unit process and apply them to the various actions/events units partake in. (Select, Move, Attack, quest completion, etc...). The game could start with standard sounds for various units and then users could import there own as pa

I totally agree, it would be great to equip hired monsters with weapons and armour. Mounts and simple animals such as wolves and bears should be able to get some armour/saddlebag equipment as well. Albeit relatively simple armour, but armour none-the-less! I would like to see them have weapons also, but I think that is a bit of a stretch within the scope of the game (and reality). Besides, it could always be modded later: Medieval bear FTW! <img src="http://images2.wiki

No need for exchange rates or anything, just make it all the same and put a coin icon next to it and everyone will know what it means inside diplomacy dialogues. It would be a nice little touch that I don't believe I've ever seen in any civilization sim game. The problem with that is that
Hmmm... I don't much like the sound of Rigma. To me it doesn't really scream "money". Gildar(s) is better, but I am still not a huge fan. How about Dail(s) or Oril(s) or Orn?
