foxunit, Really liked the spear. There are several books on the movie LotR that had sketches and up close shots of the weapons and equipment used. Might be good for a reference.

Well, as a 5th grade teacher who just finished teaching his class the difference between fact and opinion, I can definitely say that it is a fact that MoM is the best gameever. Another fact - Krispy Kreme donuts are disgusting.
I thought I always liked the idea of researching some skill (first strike) and then being able to teach it to others. However, i too am (re)playing MoM currently and I think the fact that you CAN'T do that adds to the uniqueness of the units/races. That is my single biggest complaint regarding AoW:SM. The races (and Magic spheres) are sooo cookie-cutter.
Yeah, let's introduce rats, cockroaches, and disease also, to really screw things up as new cultures are introduced to our better way of life.
"One could say more micromanagement though I would disagree there. and as for the K.I.S.S. aurgument, dammit this is a PC title and a TBS Wargame. We want some more complicated mechanics to gives us a deeper experience." That surely sums up my feelings.
In Crown of Glory (a Napoleonic game) there are the standard Inf-Cav-Art units. There is also a bit of specialization of each type, Light cav, Heavy Cav, Lancers, etc. Then, as individual units gain experience they can do certain types of upgrades. For example, a Cav can do an upgrade that allows them to recover from a charge faster than normal. This type of specialization can be crucial in deciding what types of units to build, and how to 'train" them
I play several games other than fantasy and one I am currently on is called Crown of Glory - a napoleonic game. The diplomacy in this one is a bit more convoluted than the typical 4x, but it is a valuable and fun component.
I would like to see an early choice that guides the thinking/focus of a particular culture along a consistent "theme.". This would have 2 main effects. First, a culture that is more militarily oriented to using horses versus a culture that is more infantry oriented will naturally take a research path that helps their orientation. For example, the riders may look at horsebreeding and develop different types of horses for scouting, heavy cav, light cav, etc. Meanwhile th
Okay, armed with Frogboy's bullets, I would vote for having more ability to do my own customization. This would add countless hours of enjoyment just in designing, not counting the actual playing of the game.
I guess I would ask first what you would define as Elemental being a success. From there you can tailor the game to fit that definition. Personally, I am hoping for a great campaign game to play, so the more in-depth stock races/factions there are, the better. I do not use PMEM, am not personally a modder, and have had no success even trying to install the work of others. However, I believe that others of my same ilk are more numerous than assumed. We ar
