I'm playing my first Empire game, and I see you are missing some Domination techs. This branch of the Domination Tree opens up various buildings that can be built.
You're right, I should have included that track as well. Originally I was trying to stay focused more on the notables and quest levels dimension and, obviously, it started to grow from there. In any case, I'll update the OP with the "buildings" track soon. Thanks!

I'm not sure what the rest of you were expecting, but I was waiting on Elemental as the highly-moddable, spiritual successor to Master of Magic. That is, both an excellent game and a box of tools. I do feel like we got half of each (which equals "1," I suppose). For that matter, I did something with Elemental I almost never do anymore, ever--I relied on faith that the game and its toolbox would be bigger and better produced than it turned out to be. I can see the future for it t

Depending on how much experience is shared, it may be possible to rouse several imbued champions--constantly adventuring--to decent spell-casting potency while the sovereign slouches back, eh ... doing research,
Levels are listed on the Kingdom Report, right-hand page, at the top.
True, but it isn't very effective to have to pilfer through several pages of the kingdom report to figure out what your current levels are and try to figure out the global levels--which is an entirely different question on its own. A small but simple display, on the main-screen interface, would make it a lot easier and informative--in my most humble of opi
So, if I understand this right, when a player researches a tech that raises either the Quest or Notables level, that basically means that the player gets one point added to his/her Quest and/or Notable level, which allows that player to access the next tier of Quests and/or Notables. Is that right?
Yes. Essentially, when a new game is started everyone is operating at quest 1 and notables 1. Researching an appropriate tech

Just wanted to note, I've experienced the "sovereign level-up while parked in city" bit a second time. In this instance I'm 100% sure there were no creatures around to attack my city-stationed sovereign. As well, in this case both the adventuring/attacking hero and my sovereign received level-ups--one screen popping-up right after the other. What I'm wondering, probably like many of you, is if this is a bug or if sovereigns do share in adventurer gained experience, however small.
You know...all you really have to do is read the description for the tech. It tells you what it does in the description. I know I didn't realize at first (I guess used to GalCiv). It says right in the descriptions...look for "notable level"....or "quests"....or "resources". I haven't found one yet that DOESNT let you know, albeit buried in text in the description.
Okay, without cheating I want you to read this descr

I will dedicate this section to you and state your username.
Have at it, Phazonfreak. Note that I'll update this with additional information, providing the tech to x level relationship (e.g., quest level 1, quest level 2). Expect that sometime later today, probably this evening. Perhaps you're like me--confused as to just what adventuring (for Kingdoms) or domination (for Empires) techs are needed to raise notable, quest or NPC/champion levels. Well, fret no further! > Kingdoms have three primary adventure "tracks" within the adventure tech tree; exploration, quest and recruiting. Each track is listed below along with a

Yes, well we might consider the bug to be NO DOCUMENTATION. Haha. Seriously though, the Bermuda Triangle is less mysterious than this game at times. I guess I'm off to inspect the XML files so I can try to mentally sort out the "Adventurer" tech side of things a bit better. Frustrating. *Shrugs*

This bug creates a situation where quest locations do not properly recognize the player's current notables level. This can create a situation where some quest locations are accessible while others that should, are not. An example is provided in the following two screenshots: <st

Its like a massive, gorgeous, mesmerizing but completely rough gem. Just like such a gem, its easy to see what the bugger could be cut into and is still impressive to gawk at, but someone needs to get out the chisels to finish her up like she deserves. For my part, I've encountered a few things disconcerting. At first it was CTDs that have turned into out of memory crashes. They have gotten (somewhat) better, occurring about every 20 or 30 minutes (as opposed to 10 to 20 pre-0 p

I'd pretty much say 99% sure. It was fairly early into the game and not much was going on near my northern city. Further, if it *did* happen to be a bandit (or whatever), the event happened extremely fast and simultaneous with the end of the combat my other champion was wrapping up. After I realized what happened I more or less chalked it up in the "BUG" category, but given my experience with the game so far that is something I won't say I'm 99% sure about. :D

While playing earlier this morning I encountered something peculiar. My sovereign was parked at my first city for whatever reason. Meanwhile, another champion of mine was exploring an area far to the south of two other cities of mine. After one of the combats he encountered down there, the character level-up screen popped up. It took me a second to realize that it was not for the adventuring champion but my idle sovereign! How, or why, I'm not sure. Perhaps it was a bug? Per
Did I just called out? There'll be time for a post-mortem after some sleep but around 3 weeks ago, I found myself accidentaly playing the game when I should be working, which has always been my personal metric for a game being 'good'.
Also agreed. Especially since I'll have those sweet sweet modding tools in my hands so I can work on modding while waiting for the 0-day patch.
Not to burst your bubble but I'm pretty sure that mod tools aren't available until the 0-day patch--its one of the reasons listed as to why anyone would want to be sure to update. Either way, the game (and the mod tools) are right around the corner.

Just a thought but, what if the borders were to convey more useful information than simply the edge of an empire. For example, imagine your country has borders with three neighbors; a hostile neighbor to the north, a friendly neighbor to the east, and a western neighbor in anarchy (uncontrolled, perhaps like the "bandit" example in the OP). The northern (hostile) border might reveal a small but imposing looking wall with itsy-bitsy guard towers interspersed along that border's
