I was unaware that if my sovereign died my children or wife wouldn't succeed me. I've only died during the early phases of the game when I didn't have any kids yet. However, I fully agree that when the sovereign died his or her children should succeed him or her. I've noticed this as well. However, the only real trouble I've had are the 28 HP Wolves and Bears. I ended up hiring and marrying Rilis, who has Leather Armor and an Oak Spear, and she can handle just about any number of Spiderlings.
