With nonsimultaneous turns, you each take turns like it was a board game, one after another. People don't like this because it means it takes a very long time for your turn to come back around. An extreme example being in a thirty two player game with each person's turn taking two minutes, you get to take a turn every hour. Not a problem in two player games, usually. With Simultaneous turns, everyone acts at the same time, moving all their units and setting up their cities. In a thirt

I think you've said somewhere there's no cap on the number of polygons. You have the converter scheduled for a release sometime later, but I wonder if we could persuade you to release it early, unsupported, with the disclaimer that it may not be the final version. Maybe for beta three?

Oh, I see, it's some kind of horse. The question for me is not where I can buy the mount, but how quickly can I sell all that stock my employers gave me and pick up some blizzard stock. They've discovered some kind of infinite cash machine.

I've never played World of Warcraft. Is "celestial mount" some kind of expansion?

Rishkith , seriously, if you put as much effort into complaining about the economy "issue" as you do into something productive, like designing a mod that makes the food local and explores all the trade aspects and logistics you want, we'd all be a lot better off. Seriously I'd like to see a hyper-realistic sim-empire module th
And yet morrowind is one of the biggest sales hits in RPG gaming... Good that there will be a beta 1z3 since I have yet to play one single turn in beta 1z because of the ctd when the world generates...
I'm not really sure what you're trying to say here, Shurdus. Morrowind had about four million sales and NWN's last released sales figures were three million, and that was befo

The TBS industry needs a bold innovator like Stardock. The Civilization gameplay as we see it has basically stagnated with changes that do not go far enough, that's pretty obvious to everyone that the game will be basically the same game. The really innovative stuff that Call To Power brought never made it into the base Civilization line. It took modders to run wild with the game and do something like Fall From Heaven and bring in some new considerations, and experiment with what was
And there is no point in punishing them with travel times if they forgot to plan 10 turns in advance that they would build A, B, and C where C won't start for 12 turns and it's the item that needs X resource from a city that will take 10 turns to ship the goods from. That's just a headache and I think it's the right move not making the player have to worry over that.
Actually ... it's all about how you present the informati

Hate to say this, but now that I've had a chance to test it out, 1Z2 crashes more than 1Z1 for me. Can't even get five turns into a game. Also the movement stutter is back. I'm going to have to find some kind of screen capture software to record this one, it seems like very couple of patches this old issue comes back.

How are you progressing on the single player campaign? I don't know that you would have enough time to get it in gear and get it finished by september, as the basic mechanics aren't all there yet. I don't mean this as a criticism. Maybe you have something in mind, or have already prototyped the quest line and have it shovel ready.

Currently in 1Z we are looking at testing for crashes. It's my impression from the forums we're still in the crashing testing phase. I've been holding off giving feedback on the gameplay until we get the green "we're looking for that." The actual schedule has 1Z though mentions we should be looking at solidifying the mechanics. Are the users worried you're delaying the game rather than relasing it now, or that you're delaying the next beta phase? The first just doesn't make sense, it's not ready. In case of the latter, you've got good reasons to delay. Understandingly some people who have bought into the project really want to see the progress, but I'm sure like most software projects you go through periods where there just isn't a demonstratable product. There may even be days where the software won't

This is valuable feedback. How to do things should be obvious from the interface, so it looks like the interface may need some tweaking.

I figured that we were, but decided I should clear it up. : ) I haven't seen any of the art for the fallen empires yet. The direction sounds interesting.

To really answer your question, MagicwillNZ , keep in mind that my comment was specifically directed at the original poster who basically asked for Japan to be added to official game. I don't have a problem with settings like "western europe" (although that well is a little dry) or "oriental" and actually, I think a Vedic mod wou
Is "Western European" an original culture to you? It really takes a creative mind to come up with a completely original artistic style and an inspired fantasy culture. I've stopped expecting people to deliver on this, but I am super duper impressed when people pull it off. Now me, I have zero hope that there will even be a decent "hindu" fantasy mod. The hindu gaming community simply isn't strong enough, and th

There are three reasons to do the beta right now: 1) You want to see firsthand a game in development 2) You want to put feedback into the game and make suggestions 3) You're into the whole BDSM scene and need some pain. It's not that fun. It holds the promise of being a good game, but it's very far from being complete.
First off, soldiers cost too much. Right now, they’re 1 gold per turn per unit. Let’s look at my civilization just as Lord Relias and his 3 goons took me out. Population: 305 citizens Income: 8.0g per turn Expenses: 3.0g per turn (3 soldiers) Lord Relias and Altar’s situation was basically the same except he had more soldiers. With a population

I want the pencil to draw the roads. If they give a strategic advantage (like faster unit movement) I would like to control their setup and design since that's part of the strategy for me. For things like resource and trade sure let them be automatic, there's no choices being made, nothing strategic.
