As such, there is no such thing as a veteran Imperial soldier. However, they can train up special, powerful units (Guardians, Enforcers, and Sions). These powerful individuals will routinely demonstrate the inherent flaw in trying to train groups of soldiers to be more effective. Greatness is born. I am not a lawyer and have no interest in law. But if I am going to make claims about the legality of a thing, or the realities of the law, I should actually research what I'm saying before I saw it. It's a good principle.
Actually, copyright holders do have control over individual copies by law. This is the full purpose of Copyright Laws. If you carefully read the EULA of software, you will also notice that you are only granted a license to use the software, that it is in fact not regarded as a "copy" of the copyrighted material (since mastering produces "originals" not "copies"). You don't actually own the software, just the right to use it. Thus, you do not have the right to transfer that ownership of

Hello oo7_warhammer , The game has not been released yet. The "beta" testers are people who have preordered and have been given access to early beta builds to offer feedback on the game and help the developers make the game stable. The beta is not really enjoyable and is nothing like what the actual game will be like when it'
I want the old days where I'd start up a game, consult with my friends (voice program, IM, forum, etc.), one hosts and the others connect, and voila! -- we're playing. No third party. And updating being as simple as clicking on 'update' when firing up the game and it checks automatically, or perhaps I visit the game's site or similar repository and DL the patch and apply it myself.
Studies show pirates are otherwise big purchasers (music especially, I think games too).
What studies? When? Who conducted these studies? Where did they do them? By definition pirates are often more affluent than homeless people, since they have a computer and an internet connection. That would mean any study would show that pirates are "bigger" spenders than the general public, becuase the general public includes people who can't even afford a computer to pirate onto.
I'm NOT Saying that a Unreliable Internet Connection is the ONLY reason people would pirate those games. That would be being naive and stupid. You are right in saying that Some people pirate games simply because they can or because they think that since they're smart enough to figure out How to pirate software thy are entitled to it, but, there are Just As Many people who are pirating the new Ubisoft games for the EXACT REASONS I state above.
&

Actually, the real fight wass not Linux vs. Windows but rather DirectX vs. OpenGL. DX happened because Microsoft wanted in, and OpenGL put up such a good fight for so long that DX had to be good, it had to be fast, and it had to keep moving forward in terms of feature sets. DX10 and DX11 happened because Microsoft needed to hammer in the killing blows to OpenGL in gaming. Who did the programing on OpenGL? A lot of "Linux" users. So in a way, even though I don't u

Oh, Steam is well on the way to a monopoly in the digital distribution computer game market, make no mistake. I've been around the block enough to know when a superior distribution channel comes out with must-have goods that the usual outcome is eventual monopoly. That's why things like the FTC exists, and why a company in a monopoly position have to obey stricter laws than companies in a free market do. I hope everyone here realizes that a monopoly mere

Honestly, if we really want to get into Mass Effect, I felt it had some really very well done scenes. The main dialog scenes show an incredible level of polish with very human motions. You'll be watching someone talk about something meaningless, and then his hands move in just the right way, it's uncanny. It's not just technical superiority, but the care and attention to detail that could come with any reasonable level of video quality that struck me the most. AC videos I could t

I guess I could say that yes, discovering hidden little strategies in single player that win you the game is pretty fun in single player, but losing for the eighth time to some snigglewort that's looked up Teh Ultimate Technique from gamefaqs is not my idea of a fun time in multiplayer.

That's a shame, I don't shop at Woolworths Steamworks. One day, if they see fit, they might choose to release the game at a place I shop at, and I may choose to buy their game. Until that day, we'll just have to respectfully go our own ways. To be utterly honest, I never did feel like the games I bought from them got decent support anyway, so maybe it's for the best.
The only sad people if Linux died out? Probably the Linux developers and fans. But Linux still exists, and they still have their small communities where they pat each other on the back and say to each other, "Our product is superior! Our time will come."
This has become the template in the tech industry. Give something for cheap or free in exchange for exclusivity to those who have the real power to decide who will dominate. Once dominance is achieved, the dominant player then calls the shots. Once dominance is achieved, the investment and cost necessary to compete is too high. That’s why Linux will never be a viable desktop competitor. The inertia is too strong.
Do you thin

I do not know whether there will be support for multiple maps in the same game instance. I do know that Frogboy has confirmed there won't be any in the default game. I had the same idea as you and asked whether "no multiple maps" would mean there'd be no suppot for off-map dungeons, but no response yet. This is one of those things modders can't really do if the support isn't there, unfortunately.

Oh, here's one for you. If you have only one computer, get a virtual machine and run two instances of windows XP. Use KVM to swap the keyboard and monitor. That way you can play on the same computer and use the same monitor. Not quite splitscreen, but hey.

52 Replies 99,594 Views

KVM, probably. Most games on a console, I don't know why they don't do split screen. But we're not on a console, and very few people have a KVM and need to split a computer.
